If you like coach interviews on the bench during a stoppage in play check out Hazy interviewing Lavy in the second period last night. He summed up what was wrong with the Perds nicely.

Honestly didn't see Laviolette getting fired next. Maybe we need a thread just for Nashville?

Like Naughty Nickel in Nashville? :noidea:
Bruce Garrioch said in the Ottawa Sun yesterday that he might be cooked.

My question is at what point does the infallible GM get the boot as well?

Man, if I had to choose between available former Jersey coaches it would be DeBoer over Hynes 10 times out of 10.

I wonder if the Preds are just trying to keep costs down - They're still paying Laviolette and DeBoer would certainly be commanding higher compensation than Hynes.

Since when is Eugene Melnyk running the Preds? I've seen first hand what cheaping out on coaches looks like and it ain't pretty. One round of playoff revenues likely covers the difference between Hynes and DeBoer, and then some.

So, if I can sum up you're feelings on the Preds coaching hire, it would be the following I assume...

And if the belief is that the playoffs are out of reach why is Poile being allowed to hire another coach at all?

The problem is clearly a lack of offence and Poile has never shown an ability to draft and develop any in Nashville - the only guys in Nashville’s top ten scorers who were drafted by them are Legwand, Erat and Craig Smith. Arvidsson’s good and could pass them all one day but that’s a pretty rough record for a guy who’s been in charge for 21 years now.

Yeah, not sure I'm a fan of Nashville hiring Hynes as coach. The team has talent but just not sure Hynes is the coach to best utilize that talent.

For me, it's:

And it means that DeBoer and Lavy are still potentially on the market if/when Torts announces his retirement after this year.

At least Hartnell's kid made him pay the price, Rielly gave up his lunch money to Connor without a whimper.
