Worth a shot. He was decent the last couple of years, but when he was off, it was batting practice.
And if memory serves me correctly his BP days were more at home vs on the road. I guess he didn't fit well into Sun Trust (Truist or whatever it will be going forward).

@Chewbaccer -> So what are the Braves plans/rumors for the starting rotation and 3B?

With Cole Hamels yeah that is one replacement slot and it is shame if nothing else because they seem primed to make it deep into the playoffs.

I don’t know about pitching now that MadBum is off the table.

Soroka-Fried-Hamels-Folty-Whatever rookie has the best spring would be my guess.

I’ve heard rumors about a trade for Kris Bryant, but I kind of doubt it happens. Will probably end up rolling with Austin Riley.

Looks like Gio to the White Sox and Marin Perez to the Red Sox.

Back to Teheran 9 million for one year of him is a pretty good deal.
$9M for a guy that's at least league average is good IMO, especially one that's been durable (30+ starts and 170+ innings seven years in a row). he's had a good career.

Hopefully, he figures out the curveball. If not Freddie isn't seeing many pitches.
Has there been any more talk or rumors around Marte coming to Atlanta? I am 100% convinced he is all but gone from the Pirates just not sure where he will end up.

Yep and to think that was the amount of money handed out to Gausman a few weeks back. Even Jordan Lyles got 8 million per year, so that was a pretty good deal for the Halos for a healthy pitcher.

I haven’t heard much on that front. Ozuna is the OF I’ve heard the most rumors about, but two of our top prospects are outfielders and we have Acuna, and guys like Markakis and Camargo who aren’t bad, so I don’t see OF as a position of need

I was going to say that AT&T would help Gausman, but he's actually pitched much better at home than on the road despite pitching in two pretty home run friendly ballparks. That surprised me.

He was dominant against the Marlins and he saw them multiple times at home to skew the numbers. He sucked everywhere for us last season unless he was facing the Marlins

can only get so excited for Rodon at this point. his development has been severely hampered by injuries. hopefully he finally breaks out, but you can't be optimistic forever. I think Cease will be really good.

Yeah Rodon is a china doll. Kopech, Cease, and Lopez are where they hope development is made. My statement assumes Giolito remains “good”.

i don't think there's anything to worry about with Giolito. he made significant improvements across the board and had a very high strikeout rate. ZiPS projects him at 4.1 WAR and a 3.22 ERA.
