Early reports right now are saying a "moderate ankle sprain". X-rays came back negative so nothing super serious. Probably just miss a game or two

Well I spoke too soon.

For sure.

I always I'll take an ugly W instead of an ugly L all the time

Yep. The W column doesn't differentiate pretty wins from ugly ones.

The Lakers have had 3 or 4 "ugly wins" this year.

That trade isn’t getting done. The Cabs wouldn’t do that.

Not the point though.

The point was to assess Love’s trade value.

Are you implying the writer just made this story up out of thin air?
I'm implying these guys can say whatever they want and there is no accountability. I mean, Shefter, a well respected NFL insider reported the Browns were set to take Trubisky #1.

“But I have got very smart, very well-connected people telling me over the last 24 hours that they think Trubisky’s going to be the No. 1 pick.”

Do you think at any time the Browns were taking him over Garrett?

Not really sure what the point is on this comment. I didn't say anything about a contract being good or bad. I said it would be taking in an expiring contract and moving a multi-year contract.

I'm aware that a bad contract would be someone who isn't very good and has more than a year left. Which is why I didn't suggest that the Cavs would do that.
Not sure it was directed at you. My only point is no expiring deal to the Cavs is a bad contract. All expiring deals are the same.

Woj is considered the best in the business and he doesn't name his sources....it's comnon practice. But, if Woj says something.....8 or 9 times out of 10.....it's credible.
In the NFL, Shefter and Peter King also among the best and like the NBA they have a number of sources with reports that turn out to be false.

King was told by a source he's sure Dorsey will take Josh Allen. Shefter was told the Browns will take Josh Allen.

if by credible you mean someone told him even though it might not be true? Sure....I guess.

That's not exactly true. There is accountability, it's just not always immediate and doesn't come from whatever entity they work for.

The reason Woj gets so much respect is because he's almost always right and he's almost always right before anyone else releases the same info.

He gets information from players, team officials, etc. because they know that he won't give up his sources without their ok.

Other guys, like Stephen A., Broussard, etc. don't get the respect that Woj gets because they end up being wrong a lot more often.

So, the accountability comes from the public/fans who will believe reports from Woj because of his track record of being right and who mock and won't believe others because of their track records of being wrong.

Did I say that? Nice straw man, though. I said they are just reports and we don't know what is factual. Most of the biggest NBA trades the last few years came as a surprise to everyone.
