It was pretty cool and the ending was great but I'm getting a little tired of throwaway episodes. It's early in the series and that is when you introduce the main characters and create the story. So far we know two and have spent weeks on side quests. I'm all in because it's star wars but the show is struggling to advance the plot.

I have spoken

It's tracking like the other Star Wars shows Dave Filoni has done (Rebels, Clone Wars). There's a larger plot, but most episodes as weekly adventures. The larger plot will move slowly or sometimes not at all but you'll get to know the characters a bit better and it builds a wide world of all kinds of other characters that might show up later down the road. Rebels was especially an adventure of the week type show early on, but really became a lot more focused in the later seasons. I expect that'll probably happen here. Jon Favreau said they already started working on season 2 as soon as they finished filming season 1. So my thinking is Filoni and Favreau knew in advance they were getting multiple seasons so they are taking their time with things

yeah I've gotten that sense too but who knows maybe the show is just about him trying to survive with the overarching theme of him shooting up the guild and having a wanted asset after him. I'm enjoying the episodes on their own merit but a bigger storyline developing would also be nice.

Yah I'm having a bit of fun with it. I think they'll keep the season 1 story fairly small until the end, where MAYBE something larger happens. Season 2 production is 100% underway but whether they release and keep filming/produce it (tons of $ involved in post production) will be entirely dependent on ratings/public reception.

Point being, they're not going to pour a ton of production into this until they get feedback, especially after the disaster Kathleen 'The Dick Hater' Kennedy has somewhat destroyed Star Wars. But I could see them renewing another season... they'll do SOMETHING big with baby Yoda (since that's already a thing... I mean I'll give Disney that. Disney eyes basically makes 90%+ of the population cum in their pants) at the end and gauge public perception.

Like I said before, how do we know the plot isn’t advancing at this point? We had the first few episodes to set it up, now maybe it’ll be the mandalorian jumping around, with an exploration Star Trek vibe.

As a Trekkie, it’s hilarious seeing so many Star Wars fan geeking over what’s clearly more of a trek-like project.

Check this thread out every week. The same dudes will show up saying “I really liked the episode, but I don’t see how it’s moved the show forward, where is it going.”

They haven’t figured it out yet.

I’m just enjoying the ride. It isn’t changing the dynamic of streaming but it’s a solid 30 minute time kill and I’ll just let them take it wherever it goes. At least I’m not bored.

And there’s always the prospect of another Gina Carano sighting.

I am sure that the show will get to a point and they wont just go on and on with this guy flying through space with a baby pointlessly.

This wasn't a bad episode and a nice set up for the season finale.

Tough break for Quill but who didn't see that coming? Someone on the good side was definitely going to die this week or next and he certainly seemed like the most likely.

I'm starting to think that was Mando himself that went back for that girl on Tatooine. She's alive and he's got her frozen in carbonite on his ship. They'll get out of the current scrape somehow and he'll work out a deal with her to help him get Baby Yoda back. He'll be desperate enough to accept IG-11's help too.

Really liked episode 7.

"Let us have a libation to celebrate the closing of our shared narrative!"

Ugh. RIP Kuill. That part sucked though. He was cool

Oh right.... They did mention that. Thank you.

Episode 7 imo was really good.... Left me really wanting to see 8. Though I'm thinking we all know how Lando and company get out of it

Seems like episode 7 confirmed what I thought about the direction of the previous few episodes in that those were just some adventures of survival but it was all tied together in that he couldn't do anything without the fallout of him shooting up the guild and having the kid with making life difficult, and these last two are set to resolve that.
