You all keep telling me how great you all are ...

you want to shut me up …
then WIN A POST SEASON GAME...
I don't want to shut you up. Your shitshow posts are entertaining.

The fact you think OU has anything to prove to UT shows just how delusional y'all are.

Oh that reminds me … did OU ever find a defense that works in post season play???

Someday Texas might have to worry about that in the playoffs...someday.

What is Utah's or Wisconsin's recruiting rankings for the last 5 years? This is a bullshit argument. Texas needs to develop their talent beyond a ranking.

I already know how you'll respond.

I'm telling you are wrong. How much coaching and development do you think Ndamukong Suh got at Nebraska that just about any decent coach could give? AND please don't tell me Texas hasn't had decent coaches. I just love all you guys who comment on college football and have NEVER played the game.

For as much as I disliked Carl and Bo Pelini their coaching of Suh, was like a light was switched on. You could see it immediately.

It seems to me teams like USC and most definitely Texas assumes they will be great because of their recruits and history. It's an idea of entitlement.

Herman will eventually be fired, and Texas will begin a new search. Texas and their Friday football heroes need to humble themselves and work. We all want to win.

Texas coming in at #11 is pretty good. Only 18 signed.

I was thinking they have some room to improve, up to 25, if they can take that many.

#11 @18 signed is great. Who is going to lead these young men ?The guy that whines, and whose wrists give out while swinging a 12 lb. sledge? Horns down, all day.

Maybe Herman will just take over the OC duties and be the OC that God intended him to be.

He did that starting at the end of last season. We improved offensively, but not enough. He claims he can't juggle all the head coaching responsibilities and game plan effectively. Some coaches can, apparently he can't. Tim Beck is decent at developing QB's and recruiting but he is a terrible coordinator. He should have been reassigned/fired after last year when he lost play calling duties.

One thing I've learned over the last few years, listen to the fans where your coaches have coached before. Nebraska and Ohio St told us Tim Beck sucked. Auburn told us Herb Hand isn't good at teaching pass blocking concepts but was good at getting your running game going. All these things played out like everybody said.

I'm curious what Ohio St fans think of Chris Ash. Texas fans seem to hate the hire, but we also defended Tim Beck (although they were skeptical from his time at Nebraska) and loved (still do for some reason) Herb Hand. So what the hell do we know?

I actually felt sorry for you guys when Beck was hired. He is absolutely horrible.

Ash was a great DC under Urban before he took the Rutgers job. I think that's where he needs to be. That said, we also had some elite position coaches (Luke Fickell, Kerry Coombs, Larry Johnson) that may have helped prop him up. I think all in all, it wasn't the best hire, but I think he should be enough to make the defense respectable.

Well to be fair, your coordinator shouldn't be the guy coaching up individual position groups overall in the grand scheme of things. He is a play caller and should be developing your position coaches as coaches. You've got to have good position coaches that can teach. I just want a coordinator who doesn't get pantsed by Big 12 offenses weekly. That would be nice.

So many Big 12 fans act like it's impossible to coach defense in this league, it's not. I've seen it at Texas in the past. It's not like the Big 12 being an offensive conference is a new phenomenon. It's been this way for 15-20 years now. Oklahoma has played good defense in the past, Texas has, Baylor did this year, TCU has, Kansas St did in the past, etc.

You've just got to get the right combination of coaching and players and you can slow down these offenses the same way it occurs in other conferences.
