I'm no fan of Tarantino's work but I'm a little interested in watching this one

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019)

This is a massively-hyped movie. Deserved? Yes and no. Full disclosure: Late 60's/early 70's LA is my favorite setting for movies. With that being said, the movie does a great job of putting you in that world, combining real life and fictional actors. And the movie is kinda QT's love letter to this period in the movie industry and the LA area in general. It really plods along, but since it's Leo and Brad, it's enjoyable plodding. The overall plot is ok, and I guess the ending is what everyone was really waiting for, which I guess was a satisfying. Don't expect an action-packed thrill ride.

B+

Well, I just returned from the theatre. They spent a fortune on props, repros, etc, which was the neatest thing about the whole movie for me. I grew up in the sixties and there was so much nostalgia, etc which Tarantino used that was just awesome. As for the story; if you're looking for a historical documentary that explains the Manson murders this ain't it. The acting by Pitt and DiCaprio was very well done with a bunch of funny moments and overall it was an entertaining film. Margot Robbie was smoking hot and there were some great cameos too! It was about a B+ for me as QT movies are for the most part entertaining. Damian Lewis looked just like Steve McQueen at the Playboy mansion scene, that was awesome! The ending was what you'd want if you had to write it so I won't give it away.

I quite enjoyed it. Classic Tarantino. The final half hour or so was just fucking classic. Brad and Leo need to do more movies together.

My best way to describe the movie is the slowest Tarantino movie ever made. The first two hours are a love letter from Tarantino to an era, a place and the film industry as a whole disguised as character development through just the day and life of the characters of the film although very little is done via first viewing as you watch it in regards to the plot. Then the final 40 minutes the love letter ends and a full flavor Tarantino movie breaks out.

I enjoyed it. If anything I wish it was longer.

Thought this was fucking great. Yeah, not the best Tarantino film but I enjoyed the hell out of it.

It's a fairytale from Q. He takes a little of this and a little of that from his previous pics. Pitt and DiC are superb, and that little girl is captivating. I swore I was looking at a young Marissa T (Lorenza Izzo) when DiC brings a wife home. OMG. 93KHJ gets lots of air, and for dog lovers there is Brandy. What a sweetheart. There is lots of denim hot pants but few of the figures are voluptuous.

It was discount Tue., today, so I might go back again next week. I'll be buying the Bluray. 8/10

Since everything Tarantino does is fkn great, this might not be close to his best ... But it still was fkn good.

Not a Tarantino fan but I thoroughly enjoyed this movie from start to finish. It never felt too long. Dialogue never bored me. Comfy two hours leads to an exciting last 40 mins. Must see movie

Just making it through the first half, outside of the Bruce Lee getting his ass kicked it is boring and lame as hell. If this last half doesn’t pick up like you guys say then you all owe me $5.99

I was fairly underwhelmed. I get it's a narrative on the film industry and an actor's fear of getting stereotyped into roles and being phased out for something different. Then it had the weird Tarantino flair with the hippies, but end of day it just didn't do much for me.

I'd never watch it again. Hell I've plugged in Hateful Eight a few times (usually don't watch the whole thing) and that was underwhelming to me as well.

IMO one of if not the least favorite Tarantino movies I've seen. Great cinematography, acting, etc. but the film just never went anywhere (for me anyway).
