Yeah, Winslow is talented but damn if he can't stay on the court what good is he. I'd take James Johnson in a heart beat. Always liked his game a lot.

I lied. He played 10. Will miss his 15th game tomorrow.

His numbers are really good but too soft for my liking.

12,7, and 4 are really good numbers especially when you consider his defense but what good is he if he can't stay healthy.

Yep i don't get the JJ situation at all. He is better than Jones Jr and Meyers but can't play any minutes

See, I disagree again.

Not sure about JJ, but in the case of JR and Waiters, they have ruined their own careers.

It is not that hard to be a good locker room guy.

Just like Colin Kaepernick in the NFL, once a player’s skill set declines to the point that his own court contributions don’t outweigh the off court headache, he is done.

A marginal player can extend his career by 4-5 years by simply not being a dick.

My problem with the JR situation is he and the team agreed that it was best to part ways until they found a trade? Did they ever find that trade? Of course not

As for Waiters, I'm totally on his side. Early in preseason he was one of the first guys off the bench and played well. Had a family member pass away and left the team for a few days to attend the funeral. Why when he came back, the dude could barely get off the bench in preseason when EVERYONE plays.

Spo and the front offense had a hidden agenda IMO.

I disagree.

It is a fair offer. Maybe add a 2nd, but really don’t the scabs are getting more than that.

Hell, I even read teams are asking the Cavs to attach a pick to Love to move him. I don’t think his contract is that bad, but it certainly isn’t good.

Like I said last summer, the extension hurt Love’s trade value. That will be proven factual here soon.

Love would have garnered multiple firsts as an expiring 2 last year.

There's always first rounders involved in these types of situations. That's just how the NBA works. Whether its one or some kind pick swap, players of Love's caliber aren't getting moved for a grab bag of crap and a lotto ticket. And like I said over the Summer, Love's extension is a positive. It solidifies his future, setting his value. There's no risk he's gonna walk soon so team's are more willing to talk. And with cap room scarce and a limited free agency class, trading for Love is one of a very few ways to improve your team. Having that certainty around Love's contract brings more teams to the table. Like Miami could theoretically make the Finals this year and solidify themselves as contenders for the next couple of years by getting Love. If he were on a contract where he could bounce, they might be a lot less willing to fork over assets knowing he could walk.

Depends on the overall package.

Tyler Johnson is an expiring contract. Mikal Bridges is a nice prospect.

The Cavs would be gaining a prospect without taking back a bad multi-year contract. I would be absolutely shocked if Cleveland gets a deal better than this without taking back a bad contract.

I completely disagree about the extension value. It isn’t a bad deal considering he signed for well less than max. Teams will want to deal for Love. But they aren’t going to want to give multiple assets in exchange for an injury prone 31 year with 4 years left on his contract.

In 2019, NBA teams value cap flexibility too much to do that.

I bet the The deal is going to end up being something like this:

Bad contract + late 1st + salary filler.

Heat just making shit up on Waiters at this point

Are they though? Waiters didn't have a sparkling reputation in Cleveland or OKC. This is the 3rd time that he's been suspended and his tenure with the Heat has been shaky for a majority of it. James Johnson is a different story, don't know what's going on there.

Is there a more desirable player with an expiring contract than Galinari?
