No, not a mis-type, and this isn't a joke. Bochy has accepted to coach a new team. Already. Less than 3 months after he left the Giants.
Although it isn't what you were probably thinking : Bruce Bochy, recently retired as manager of the Giants, has signed on to manage France’s national team as it attempts to qualify for the World Baseball Classic in 2021, according to published reports. Bochy was born in France when his father was based there with the military. “I want to stay involved and give back to baseball what it gave to me,” Bochy said, according to the report.
Bochy, 64, retired at the end of the 2019 campaign after 25 seasons as a manager. He spent the first half of his career with the San Diego Padres (1995-2006), leading them to the 1998 National League pennant. He moved north in 2007 to manage the Giants, who won three World Series championships under Bochy.
