Whatever, I think bandwagon fans like you are fucking nuts, so there's that.

There is no upside besides money to going pro, sorry.

Being successful in Pro is considered waaay better than being successful in college for ones career. Pro is the end all be all. Again, I hope jones doesn’t opt for a college offensive coordinator and goes with Sean Payton.

Thanks though

Guys at the elite schools make so much money now they don't consider the pros for just the coin they can make. They go because they've proved themselves at the highest level or are tired of the grind where their best players are always needing to be replaced. Lincoln Riley isn't even close to (a) needing the money (b) winning even his first National Championship or (c) being old enough that the recruiting thing is wearing on him. The other situation is when lightening strikes and a coach at a non-elite school (Texas Tech) gets a shot at the Big Time. Oklahoma hardly fits that category.

I pretty much agree with that first part. But Riley wouldn’t be stupid to take that.

The cowboys are massively talented on offense. But their coaching is awful. An if the division they played in didn’t suck absolute balls Garrett would have no chance to live to see another day. But if the cowboys win their division and then win a few playoff games Jones will keep him and tell everyone he is right.

All that still doesn’t make Riley stupid for taking that job.

Payton just signed a 5 year extension in 2019, why would he already be leaving? I'd like to have him as well, but don't see an avenue for it.

I agree and disagree. Yes, the college blue blood job is way better than the NFL job, but the NFL job holds way more prestige. All you need to do is go to the NFL for a one contract and if you win a lot you are set for life and if you lose a lot you still have a shot at another blue blood program. I can't remember many college to NFL coaches that when they washed out couldn't find another good college job.

While I agree on that it’s not impossible to see him joining. Jerry Jones will go hard after who he wants. But ultimately your right, he would have re upped if he wanted to leave.

Sincerely. Why would they opt for Mullen over Meyer considering the latter has expressed interest? What would be the edge there? Personality? Pleasant exits? Dak Prescott's vote? :noidea:

also some thought that mullen is easier to keep under thumb as a hc ala garrett then a big personality like meyer would be.....

Now that seems like a clear advantage for Mullen since we're talking about Jerry Jones.
