The Cowboys could potentially go 8-8 and still win the division and host a playoff game.

What is wrong with this playoff system?

I wish they would simply get rid of divisions and let the top teams play each other and the bottom teams play each other.

At the end of the season, the top 6 teams get in the playoffs. None of this division crap where a crap team like the Cowboys get to host a playoff game.
Agreed. San Francisco having to travel to Dallas or Philly is wrong.

Oh neat, more SF fans complaining about a scenario that hasn't even played out yet.
Win the division and you earned your home game. Fail that and you are fortunate enough to be in the consolation round along with the two lowest division winners.

All this bitching over having to play an 8-8 team. Honestly, if you are a 12 or 13 game winner that can't beat an 8-8 team on the road do you really belong in the first place? :L

Whether you win that game or not you aren't then also suggesting you should have another home game against the 1 or 2 seed yeah? So EITHER WAY you'd still be on the road against the tougher teams. IT CHANGES NOTHING.

Can you guarantee me that 10 or 12 runner up played a tougher schedule than that 8 or 10 win Division Champion.

Every year we get these stupid playoff whining threads.

I guarantee that in general, 12 wins is more impressive than 8 wins, and should be rewarded for it. I guarantee that far, FAR more times, that 8 win division 'winner' doesn't smell the playoffs at all in almost every other division, let alone get to host a playoff game.

I guarantee that there hasn't been a valid argument to counter that....certainly hasn't happened here....and until I see something credible, I see no point to continue.

I guarantee if a 12 win team didn't win their division they in fact lost it. I guarantee a 12+ team did win that division and earned the reward that goes with WINNING. I guarantee that other team is lucky as fuck we have a consolation bracket for the best two teams that were losers to go in as wildcards. I guarantee those wildcard teams are fortunate to not have to face the top two division winners and if you asked them, I'd guarantee if they had to go on the road they'd by FAR prefer an 8-8 opponent.

And I'll guarantee even if you had your way, they would still have to go on the road in the second round to face those better division winners that were above them anyway.

So you keep pissing and moaning about a road game that a worthy 12 win team should win that puts them in the same exact spot on the road no matter whether that first game was home or away anyway.

That's nice and all.....12 is superior to 8. End of story.

Maybe they should just drop the wildcards and go back to division winners only. Win or go home. I guess some here would prefer that than have the fair and logical path they've been given as a consolation bracket.

you really really think SF is going to lose the division don't you.

:pound:

And it's flat out killing you.

You would have a point...if I started believing this argument because of the current situation with SF...but I've always known the current playoff seeding was flawed. That you have fall back on it is further proof your case is empty.....not that I need it, though....

12 is superior to 8, and there is nothing you can do or 'say' that refutes it.

I took the 8 vs 12 games due to this season, now what happens when division winner has 11 wins while a 2nd place WC team has 12 wins with an easy as pie schedule? Do you reward that 2nd place team? Let's take it one step further, what if one of the 4 loses came from the division winner your trying to bounce?
I have an idea. Leave what's not broken alone.

Honest question for you @Ricky Roma , if you truly have always thought this way and this isn't solely based on the current situation with your 49ers, where was all this outrage and arguing last year in regards to the Chargers? I'm not trying to troll here either. I want an honest answer because I don't recall the 30 posts on the inequity of that situation.

Oh, and one thing to add and then I'll say fuck it and leave this shit show of a thread. I will publicly say that if the Niners win the division and it's the Seahawks at 11-12 wins who have to go to Philly or Dallas or whatever, @Ricky Roma will be the first one to say "Suck it up 12s. You should have won the division." and he won't give two shits about fair or "logical" then. Guaranteed.

Actually, everyone has destroyed your bogus argument multiple times. It's fun watching you derp though. Keep up the good work. :thumb:

That has happened as much as you've shown that 8 is better than 12.

It hasn't....and it never will.

I still say better record, because the odds are still in favour of seeding by record. An 8 win team will almost never make up a SOS against a 12 win team. That system is simply flawed.

It's a bogus argument which has been proven time and time again. You want losers to be treated the same as winners. That is not logical. Since you fail on the premise, your entire stance has totally failed. And THAT is a fact.

That is easily explanable....the teams involved this year included in this nonsense and the fanbase on the Hoop. What Charger fans are here? It was stupid last year, it was stupid when the Panthers hosted a playoff game when they won 7 games, it was stupid when Seattle hosted the Saints nearly a decade ago and it'll be stupid this year whomever has to make the trip.

Oh, and one thing to add and then I'll say fuck it and leave this shit show of a thread. Uh huh......you guarantee this do yah? Will you be man enough to admit error if Seattle does finish second, and your statements don't come through? Although...I would have every right to throw it back in some of the Sea fans for their laughable claims here.
