Always the exception. If McCaffrey had played he'd a been #1?

Had he played his bowl game he would’ve been the number 1 overall pick or number 1 player in the game? Jackson is the number 1 guy whether McCaffery played in the Maxipad bowl or not.

Not to the schools. It's more cash to add to the bottom lines. It's more face time with the boosters. It's more TV time to recruit more kids to the meat grinder. That's just a couple.

But not to the players. If you're just a scrub, then maybe. If you plan to play in the NFL, what's the sense?

I don't blame these players at all. I get the team closeness thing, but business is business.

When you are out of college football you are on your own so you have to preserve your money making ability.

That college isn't going to be there after you tear your acl, mcl and meniscus in a symbolic game that you aren't earning a dime in.
Eh, they will help you heal, and some/most? Let you come back and get a degree free if you leave early.

But I don't blame players for skipping one of they think that's best for them

Not even 1st round. Many of these players come from terrible situations as far as home life/financial situation and ANY spot on a NFL roster in ANY way is well worth the hurt feelings of some fans for some chicken bowl appearance after they have made their universities millions of dollars for their participation up to that point.
I would think anyone projected past the second round should probably play to potentially increase their stock. Probably wouldn't be too much, but a good game against decent-good competition can never hurt.

I would have traded the pick. Just me. I want higher character guys.

You would prefer Mitch Trubisky over Christian Mccaffery or Joey Bosa?

Don't know. We don't draft that high in the draft. I am saying that Their poor character would lead me to devalue them.

You could flip that and say they have higher character. It shows great character to sacrifice imagine and perception in order to be available and try to win a championship for your next team.

Jerry Jeudy is going to play for Alabama in the Citrus.

Like he said: "I’m playing in the bowl game. There's no reason not to play!!!!".
