I knew where this was heading....lol

Navy racists used that tired joke too.

It's funny.....

Sometimes racists can compartmentalize their hatred.

We had a guy in our unit that had like a 5 inch swastika tatted over his chest.

How he got a top secret clearance I will never know.

When we were TDY in Seattle, our whole unit took the ferry to Canada to get some drinks.

While in the bar, a drunk Canadian called another black sailor the N Word.

Said Nazi beat his whole ass.

I asked him why and he said...

" We are Americans. When we are in this uniform we are the same".

I was like......uhhhhh.

lmao kinda like a sibling...

I can whoop my brother's ass, but Lord help anyone else who ever tried it...

Yep.

The guy didn't seem to have any malicious intent.

Didn't use any trigger words.

But, how fucking stupid do you have to be to say some Shit like that on the radio in 2019?

I'm glad he didn't lose his job because it's obvious he was just trying to justify the results on the field.

Rodney Peete is one of the hosts on one of my favorite sportstalk shows. He and Tim Ryan were teammates for 3 years at USC.

He basically said that Tim Ryan is absolutely not a racist...but it was a really dumb thing to say and that he has to know better.

I wish the Lakers had some trade assets outside of Kuz. Especially since it's looking like Iggy isn't getting bought out and I'm not sure that there will be much help available in the buyout market.

They are playing really well and look like the best team in the league right now.

A lot of the reason they look as good as they do is because several role players that most of us saw as questionable are really stepping up and Kuz is rounding into form.

I'm not really worried about Lebron, AD, Kuz and Danny Green, or even Javale for that matter.

But will Dwight keep playing like he is? Will Rondo keep hitting 3's like he has been? When Avery Bradley gets back, will he still play the good defense he was playing before he got hurt?

A lot of questions there. If this is sustainable, maybe they can win a title as currently constructed? I'm just not sure it is sustainable.
Well, KCP has a player option.

He is definitely picking that up.

So, maybe package him with some 2nd rounders for bench help?

If you can't get Iggy, you might be able to get Crowder, Terrance Ross.

anyways, enough of that. on to the Blazers tonight...

they aren't quite what they used to be, but for whatever reason that place is STILL a house of horrors for the Lakers...

Just one of those venues/teams. It doesn't matter how good the Lakers are or how bad the Blazers are...the Lakers always seem to struggle in Portland.

Anfernee Simons looks like a 5th grader.

But, that kid has taken a huge step forward in production.

I think they give you trouble because all of their best players are perimeter orientated.

Not sure how completely accurate it is, but here's what I've heard...

They actually got pretty far down the road with Bob Stoops, but talks broke down over what the assistants can be paid. I also heard that they reached out to Urban, but he wasn't ready (there's speculation that the Cowboys might want him, so I get that).

So, after Stoops and Meyer, it looks like Helton was the best option. Especially when you consider his $20 million buyout. No sense in paying that buyout so you can settle for a coach that you may end up having to fire in a couple of seasons.

For this year, yeah. But the Lakers have historically struggled in Portland. Even the Showtime Lakers had their fair share.

Anyone mention Jazz dumbfuck announcers Craig Bolerjack & Matt Harpring saying LeBron was being disrespectful for cheering on his teammates without wearing shoes during the Lakers blowout win against Utah because he had given them to a couple of young fans? I bet if a white player did that they would have said it was a great gesture.

I still don't understand that lol

It was nothing more than unneeded critism from a couple of racist douchebags. Like I said. If a white player did that those Jazz announcers would think it was a nice gesture.

I believe both have saved their MLE too... haven't they? Besides, they can trade with teams that need to save salary and "eat" the 25% of salary that would be excessive...

Lakers started under the cap and used their Room Exception on Avery Bradley.

If they were just criticizing that he was basically on the floor celebrating during a lopsided win, I could understand. The shoes part was stupid.

Holy shit. That's just wrong. I have no tolerance for any type of racism.

Is it really racist though? It's noting his skin color, not saying he could play like that because he's black. It's a stupid comment, but a QB could just as easily be wearing black compression sleeves and gloves in that weather and it wouldn't be about race whatsoever. Recognizing a man's skin color is not the same as stereotyping him for it.
