If he didn't say it with racist intent then only the interpretations are actually racist.
Well, I don't agree.

Weak, just weak.Surprised you would admit that. But good on you.
Agreed. As I said in another post, the comment contains just enough logic to make it believable and I don't mind people calling it out to remind people how some might look at this comment but don't punish the dude for a comment he probably should not have made but clearly was not meant in a malicious way.I don't, and I also think he might be onto something...from the Press Box, on an overcast rainy day.
As an excuse for players on the field? It was a stupid comment imo.
Surprised you would admit that also but, again, good on you.Weak, just weak.
What’s the “*****” count at so far?Montalban starting another racially motivated thread.
In 1920, black communities had their very own baseball teams within flourishing local communities. They had heroes and pride and businesses. They thrived, especially in their Pittsburgh neighborhoods. After all this is 2019 not 1920
I laughed at that one.
Mind you I grew up with Archie Bunker.

Is it racist now to eat a fucking watermelon? Is that cultural appropriation? Clown show.

Lamar Jackson is a blast to watch. Very much like Vick I'm rooting for the guy, I just don't think it'll last. I called him a bust, but I'd be very happy if he proves me wrong (his style would change football forever, much like Vick).
It's just a stupid thing to say...
I'm reminded of the Chick Hearn call during a game, when he described an opposing player as "hanging on the rim long enough to eat a banana."
What about Cosell's little monkey comment about Alvin Garrett? He made similar comment about a white back once if I recall.
