Relegation in cfb would be tough because of geography and scheduling but if you could figure all that out id like the idea
Pairings
Pac 12 MWC Drop Stanford and AZ bring in Boise and AF
Big XII CUSA Drop Kansas and TT bring in FAU and UAB
Big Ten MAC drop Northwestern and Rutgers bring in CMU and Miami OH
ACC AAC drop GT and NCState bring in Memphis and Cinci
SEC Sun Belt drop Ark and Vandy bring in App State and Louisiana

A lot of people are talking about solving the BCS problem with a super conference.

Can you guys elaborate on that? What would it look like?

I think it would be cool to have four regions like a Southeast, Northeast, Northwest, and Southwest Region.

Then you could have something like 32 teams in every region.

From their you could create a conference schedule based on last year's record. The top teams would have the hardest schedule and the bottom teams the easiest.

Then at the end of the season you have a regional championship and the to four teams play for a championship.
how would a northwest region look exactly?

We can’t even find 4 good teams most years. Semi-finals are always blowouts. Only 3 teams really deserve it this year.
I think people are grossly underestimating Utah and forget they lost without their QB and RB on the road

Well there would only be 4 conferences ( in this scenario ) so youd need G5 to go to the same format but the bigger concern ( other than geography ) would be the funding of those programs vs the P5 regulars and the scheduling . Its doable but easier in pri sports as the money is bigger there

VaTech>South Carolina at the time.

Not really. VaTech finished tied for last place in their division. They lost to East Carolina, Ga Tech, Pitt, Miami, Boston College and Wake Forest.

who ever is moved does so after bowls. teams are subject to the money of the new conference split. who ever moves up shares in P5 money share.
or each P5 and G5 partnership shares revenue.

if you switch to 4 super and 4 group super then you split up CUSA which has teams in all regions.

EVERY playoff game last year was over at Half-time …

why would you add more teams to make it worse.

FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

but I respect your opinion, and I can see that not everyone agrees on all subjects.
All I hear is my team couldn’t get it done in the regular season and I want another chance. (Even though they didn’t earn it)

But what happens if 2 of the 4 best teams are in 1 region? Clemson,Bama,LSU, and UGA are in the same region. Ohio State is the only team outside that region that can consistently keep up

you forgot Rutgers.

To be clear, my team has never been good enough to make it even if they had a 16 team playoff.

I have also been vocal about it being likely that Oklahoma may Jump Utah due to Baylor being a better CCG opponent than Oregon.

So if that is all you hear I am not sure exactly who you are listening to, sure as hell was not me. My desire for an expanded playoff is because the committee is terrible at this, I would rather have more teams and get the right teams in, than have the wrong teams picked. Usually the top 2 or 3 teams are clear, but the 4th is based on unclear selection process that changes on the whims of the committee on that particular year.

this might be the dumbest thread ever. the SEC and B1G are not giving up their money.

Rivalries and traditions still matter in college football. The third Saturday in Oct is always UT/Alabama. The Iron Bowl still matters.

I'd love to see the power conferences whittled down to four. Each conference would have 16 teams.

SEC, ACC, B10, and P12

The four conferences could then start looking for how to fill up it's 16 team conference. 64 teams total. Each conference is split into two 8 team divisions.

* You would play 7 division conference games.
* Two games against the other division in your conference
* Two OOC Power 4 teams
* One OOC team from wherever you want (or another Power 4 team if you like)

I think this would be a great set up. Force an independent like Notre Dame to join, or miss out on the playoffs.

Just my two cents.

I like it. Anything would be better than a weekend of conference championship games that mean almost nothing.
how would a northwest region look exactly?

Well I haven't exactly mapped it all out but just of the top of my head I would say everything West of the Mississippi to the Pacific and everything north of say the old Mason Dixon line if it ran all the way across the country.

Superconferences would ostensibly create a separation from P5 and G5 ( even more than now ,). Especially if you grant the playiff spots only to conference winners .

Youd badically be creating 2 separate divisions without technically doing it

I wouldn't have a problem with that at all. It's already a de facto separate league anyway. No G5 is ever going to get into the playoff anyway.
