To be fair, the Jazz have been pretty bad lately and are quickly approaching .500.

The Jazz have had their East run... Wait till the others have it too... it's Tar and feathers waiting for the West teams that visit the East this season...

I see UTAH winning the West... Reason is simple... They are the only ones that have enough cap space to add strength in their roster. They can be much better during the postseason... Lakers/Clippers practically can't move... none to trade and no cap space to sign a buyout.

They can sign buyouts to vet min contracts, which is usually what happens unless there is a bidding war (and the player is interested in multiple teams).

Lakers could have a surprise contributor down the stretch without even changing their roster, between the 2-way contracts that rarely play (Kostas, Norvell Jr), and the currently injured rookie Horton-Tucker and Boogie.

More to do with Conley and Ingles than the schedule IMO.

I believe both have saved their MLE too... haven't they? Besides, they can trade with teams that need to save salary and "eat" the 25% of salary that would be excessive...

Fucking elitist didn't even bother to mention the Clippers.

:mad2:
Just curious, but are the Clipps worth mentioning? :-)

Have you watched the Jazz play? They have chemistry issues on defense, a lot of them, they have a long way to go. Their defense was much better the last few years...not just defensively, they have issues as a team. I don't know how anyone can watch bball and say the Jazz are winning the rest right now, of course that is assuming you watch basketball, going by your opinions you only watch Bucks basketball.

When Conley comes back that will definitely help defensively and as a whole though

Lol. Wrong.

First of all there isn't going to be anyone available on the buyout market that will require much cap space. Second, they are known to be waiting to see if Iguodala gets bought out (I think he'll be traded) and have the means to at least create the cap space to sign him if he somehow does get bought out.

I don't know what the Clippers cap situation is like, but with their depth, they could offer a decent package for a trade if there's one that makes sense. I'm sure they could probably create the cap space for a buyout if necessary.

Literally, the only correct thing in your post is that the Lakers don't have the assets for a trade.

Reality is Lakers can win 65 games but if it doesn't end with a title then the season was a failure. Same goes for Milwaukee, Philly, Clippers, & Rockets
Even so, as fans there's nothing wrong with enjoying your team crushing fools in the regular season and woofing about it. Especially after so many shitty years. There's more to a season than just finding out who wins in the end

When was the last time a team won their conference without hosting a playoff series?

I could be wrong but it's the 98-99 Knicks, they were an 8 seed! They lost to the Spurs in the Finals. Another one was the 94-95 Rockets (6 seed), who ended up actually winning it all, very rare.

I say this bc the Jazz are 7 games out of the top spot, of course only 3.5 out of the 4th spot but if they keep playing like this they are going to be a 5-8 seed and chances of winning one series, let alone three series in the tough west gets extremely difficult.

Plenty in the trade market that require much cap space... CP3, Gallinari, Ibaka, Love, Thompson, O.Porter... just to name a few...
