When I first read the headline I thought Ohio State just came in and stole Michigan's best athlete, but the more I read about him, I'm kind of surprised that Ohio State made an offer to him. He's classified as a 4* on one service and a 3* on another, and seems to be a smaller guy for QB (although that is changing). Neither recruiting website I looked at have him ranked in the top 15 prospects in the state of Michigan. I'm assuming he is just "lights out" fast and OSU will mold him into a different position.

I hope Michigan didn't miss out on a GREAT prospect. It looks they offered him a scholarship and recruited him. At this point though, I'm not sure he isn't just a project for Ohio State...as opposed to a can't miss prospect. We shall see.

I hate seeing Mr. Michigan go to the dark side. It almost feels like the guy that steals your girlfriend, just to prove to you he can.

Not to sound too harsh, but let it go and get over it.....

I look forward to reading more about him, it wouldn't be surprising if they used him in a different position, happens all of the time. And if any program can do that successfully, OSU can.

As far as losing an in state prospect, I really wouldn't go there. OSU has lost a ton of talent to the cesspool up north. In many instances we found better talent out of state on a given position and simply gave him up to the cesspool, but there have been instances of just losing out on a top prospect. Kyle Kalis, Charles Woodson, just a couple top names, many more. Currently on the 2019 wolverines team, there are 16-17 from Ohio. I've seen that number be much higher in other years.

I'm curious if he sticks with QB or moves to another role

My concern with the next two QBs OSU has lined up are they are relatively statues in the pocket. Miller's 40 is like 5.04

Not surprising. Why would you want to go to Michigan over OSU? Without Michigan to keep OSU in check, I think Day’s job will be safe for a very long time. And that is coming from a guy who still has a wait and see approach with an inherited program.

My only concern if I'm LSU is who's next up at QB

Because that's what has killed them obviously. The talent at the skill positions they have had wasted with shitty qbs

And I get Martinez is a little guy with almost likely no future at QB in the NFL

Kyler was a top five prospect

Martinez will not sniff QB at Ohio State

in terms of being an athlete hes probably a bit underrated by some of the recruiting services.

Very rare you see an undersized QB succeed even in college especially at a big school, but if you do it's one that is very highly recruited. This kid won't be a QB in college

Actually listed as an athlete and there are videos of him making snags at WR

WR or he would be the Demarrio McCall type. Returner, jet sweeps, WR, RB, etc.---H-back.

He looks explosive

Absolutely it is. That’s why as a fan man, it’s about enjoying the ride. Who knows when they will be back in this position. All of the most recent LSU qb’s have been transfers (Burrow, Mettenberger, and Etling). With the new transfer portal in place LSU may be looking. Both Houston and Auburn’s transfer qb’s have mentioned LSU.

Also the hope is if LSU has a Heisman winning qb and keeps Joe Brady in place, the hope is it will all play itself out in a positive way.

Speculation from what I read is that he will start at DB/S because the WR room will already be so loaded. Of course that could change but likely depends on what depth on both sides is looking like once he gets here.

Also Miller might be getting passed in this class, it seems like he will stay in but we are now favorites to land a 2nd QB in this class. Who is rated higher than Miller

CJ Stroud, Rancho Cucamonga, Pro-Style Quarterback

Stroud seems more mobile than Miller/McCord based on 40 time (though of course not near fields)

I like the 4.8 time

Don't expect a Fields/Pryor/Miller/JT every year either just Haskins mobility hurt JK

I think it was more than Haskins lack of mobility that handicapped JK last year. Play calling on runs/oline effectiveness etc....

Fields having another year is a gigantic saving grace. We'd pretty much have to seek another grad transfer for next season if he was eligible to leave. Hopefully we end up with Miler & Stroud that way there are 2 legit recruits with a whole year in the system before one has to take the reigns.

Regardless of how Dobbins did last year, that was a championship-caliber offense, and there were some major issues in regards to coaching that hindered things.

Looking ahead, having a QB who can extend drives with his feet is a great thing, but with the insane level of WR talent coming in, I don't think it's essential. Look at last year's Clemson team in the NC game. Trevor Lawrence had 27 rushing yards on the ground, but he killed Bama's defense through the air. In fact, the last 4 national title winners' QBs weren't winning with their legs. They had less than 100 yards rushing combined for the 4 games (including Jake Coker's -20 yards 4 years ago).

Also, while he's not a dual-threat, Jack Miller isn't a statue by any means. For his high school career, he has almost 1400 yards with 6.0 per carry and 14 TDs, so he can move when necessary. For comparison, Haskins' senior year was his only year in high school where he didn't have a net negative yardage total on the ground, and he ended his high school career with -22 total rushing yards and 4 TDs.

I love a QB with mobility but as long as they can move in the pocket and get outside of the pocket to extend plays I would be fine with that.
