True, but let me ask you this? Do you think the NCAA and the universities would ever schedule the top 4 teams in the polls to open the football season to play each other, and then have the winners play each other? 3 teams with at least one loss. Nada.
no disagreement....CFB and bball are totally different. But you do need to consider these OOCs are usually scheduled years in advance. Hard to know who will be top 4 in polls 5-10 years from scheduling. Pretty certain bball schedules are made up year to year when it comes to OOC.

I know OSU scheduled Oregon and TCU when both were top 3-4 teams at time of scheduling. wasn't the case when they played TCU and doubt when they play Oregon. I'm sure other teams have done the same. Bama with FSU, for instance.

Every time I see this thread title I want to slap OD. Mostly because I just wish he'd tell himself the truth and and change it to Oregon Failed. They had it right in front of them, just beat ASU at their house and they were in. Just show up and don't shit yourselves...no poop Herberts for 3 minutes of that game he shit himself and they're in. Just handle your business and you'll be there to take your beat down in the playoffs...nope...they can't do that for our little buddy...they have to fuck him over by pissing down their legs and leave him to dreaming of new scenarios where they get in...hell, he didn't even do that right, he went straight to blaming the system.. Sad, very, very sad.
I don't know that poster, but agree I don't have much sympathy for fans who just want expansion because their team shit the bed.

Again, there has never been 4. Doubt there has been 3 more than once or twice.

In the last 70 years there has only been like 6 undefeated seasons in the Pac. They don't do it often. Hasn't happened since Carroll was at USC and those were vacated. It's not a thing.
there are rarely 4 undefeated teams, so the committee is left with multiple 11-1 teams to pick and choose from for whatever reason they decide to complete the final four.

which claim would you like me to back up?

Here is your..."And I'm telling you that teams ducking playing decent OOC schedules are for sure a problem."

Name a team that's ducking decent OOC schedules. To quote Harold Ramos in Stripes (still)..."that's none".
Seems English is tough for you. I said you can't just hang up on only one OOC game on any given schedule. SEC teams playing 3 garbage teams is the norm.

The only thing you offered is your belief that bama and Florida agreeing to go on the road counts. It doesn't. Taking about playing top flight OOC is playing top flight no matter where it is played. You still won't do the leg work to support your claims, just make some blanket statement that's supposed to mean something. Florida didn't have to leave their state to face a top team until fsu went back to being about as bad as a mid major again.

Just go find any article at all. Just one. Not hard. If your assertion that the overall quality has directly improved just because of the move to 4 is valid, it should be trivial to find references to writers that agree.

You won't do it. Your lazy ass wants to deflect and make people do your homework for you. It doesn't work like that.

Citing one or two teams doesn't do a thing. I could point out that UWs OOC has been at its historic worst, but it isn't related to the playoffs. You need a larger subset to back it up.

Either put up, or shut up. You can't keep going on about something you yourself aren't willing to do.

I really don't see the need to schedule so far in advance. Teams scheduling other teams to play them in the 2030's is ridiculous. 3 years is the max I would allow, and that can be enforced.

As for Oregon, they would need a QB to retain being a power next year. They are a step up from Florida Atlantic.

But this is how SEC teams have always scheduled going back to BCS and maybe before. Once again YOU are the one who made the claim. Not me. I asked for 1 team to support your claim. We are still at none. Your claim was in regards to the CFP and the potential of expansion.

So, again, I ask who is ducking games?

another example to support the other side is OSU. They used to try to schedule 1 tough OOC with 3 patsies. Now even with only 3 games, their future scheduling has been what we both want....a tough P%, a lesser P5 and in their case usually a MAC school.

Score it 3-0 now.

I do agree with this as far as keeping it shorter. But I can see why teams would like to know as well. You don't want t be scrambling for opponents ever.

Even at 3 years you'd still run risks of a school falling off the map (sure, less likely than 8-10).

Yeah, uh no.

I made my opinions known. You harped on it and made some counter claim, decided that was enough to push me to further give depth on mine without doing the same for yours.

The reason you are shooting blanks is you are the one keeping this alive. If I was pushing you I'd expect others to point out the hypocrisy.

I'm not keeping this alive, you are.

If you want to keep this going, put up something to substantiate your claim and I'll address it. That's how this works.

Remember that time when he tried to claim that the CFP had everything to do with poor OOC scheduling? (of course this was just him putting words in your mouth)

We know you didnt make the claim that the CFP is directly responsible for poor OOC, rather you were pointing out how an automatic bidding 8 team format would most certainly lead to poor OOC scheduling (worse than what we have ever seen despite the era/format)

Im still waiting.... either put up or shut up. Either is fine.

You can't keep harping on this while also saying someone else is the one looking to argue. It's kind of stupid.

yeah, uh, yes.

you claimed teams were scheduling worse. I said name one. You haven't. I named a few teams whose schedules have improved.

You are on day 3-4 and cannot come up with one team to support YOUR claim. I came up with 3 to counter.

3-0

Never said he claimed CFP directly responsible for anything, but he did make this exact comment word for word - "teams are scheduling weaker now with the CFP"

And now into day 3 and he cannot come up with 1 team to support this claim. Want to help him?

Not debatable, chief. That was his exact comment and to date he cannot come up with one team to support this claim. Not one.

does this make irrational, deflection, diversion the typical SportsHoopla go-to?

Wasn't a story. Was an actual comment word for word. You disputing this Anti-8 Guy?

I think what you meant to say was, "my bad. silly of me to base my comment on poster and not post. clearly he made a comment and wont back it"

So funny to see rivals posters declare themselves victorious in the face of MANY defeats. Not once has this nutjob been correct.
