Man tough pick, I'd probably have to go with which movie I could 'pop in' ANY time and enjoy.

Aliens, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Fast Times at Ridgemont, Caddyshack, and Empire Strikes would be the 5 I'd probably choose from. Would PROBABLY rank:

Aliens - Could argue thriller THESE days but it was very much horror at the time. Just an amazing blend of action, suspense, and horror. Some of the most iconic lines still used today: "Game over" "Nuke the entire site from orbit" "Maybe we got em' demoralized..." Similar to T2, no sequel to the franchise has come CLOSE.

Raiders - Can turn this on whenever. Just a great adventure movie that gave such great homage to the old black/white adventure flicks in the mid 1900s.

Ridgemont - The best coming of age movie of this list. Stand By Me/Breakfast Club get honorable mentions, but Ridgemont was VERY real and touched on some very sensitive subjects. Yes there was comedic elements, but it captured the entry into adulthood perfectly. I think Superbad VERY much emulated this movie, touching heavily on adolescent sex/drugs and expectation of what adulthood is all about only to find out it's not all it's cracked up to be.

Caddyshack - This movie just gets me every time. The golf rules are a bit inaccurate but it's just an amazing blend of comedic actors who all hated each other, so the film comes off quite real. Nod to Airplane, but I can much easily watch Caddyshack start to finish than Airplane where certain moments (YouTube clips) are more memorable.

Empire - Needs zero introduction, but I probably wouldn't put it FIRST on my list. The story is great, but there are DEFINITELY slow moments that once you've seen it... kind of lose momentum. Definitely a movie I can throw on in the background when I'm doing something else though, and then sit down for an hour to watch a part of. Similar to Aliens/T2 (90s), no other sequel has come close. The storytelling and world building was revolutionary at the time.

That was a great one.

Sequel is going to be coming out soon

1 was ok, good for the '80's
2 was....meh.
3 was so bad I walked out of the theater 30 minutes in and have never looked for it on VHS, DVD or On Demand.
