Outside of week 1's anomaly.

Weeks 2-11 per game averages....
Targets- 4
Catches- 2.2
Yards- 24.2
Total TD's during that time- 1 (1 fugging TD in 9 weeks)

Meanwhile the Lions rank 30th in total defense.

Quinn's first round selections-

Decker- Average player at 2nd most important position.
J. Davis- Straight up bust.
Ragnow- Good player and 2nd least important position.
Hockinson- completely unused player at least important position.

Let's say you are Martha and outside of selling the team, here are your choices...

A) Give Quinn and Patricia one more season. (for coaching stability)
B) Can Quinn and give Patricia one more year to prove himself.
C) Clean house and start anew.
D) Hire TPaul and TrustmeIamright as special consultants to help with personnel decisions.

He is more or less the captain of the entire OL. He makes the line calls for adjustments initially and then the QB in concert relays what he sees pre-snap and after any change of calls from huddle/initial play call.

You, sir, are way off on your assessment, imo.

It's better to have an average LT than one that plays his position like a turn-style to a New York subway.

I've never understood the theory or premise in that if you don't have Pro-Bowl players then they're considered :trash:.

It must be the Ukraine conspiracy theory.

This I agree with as much as signing a highly paid 2nd in line FA TE who is also highly unused (not his fault either) and that falls upon the glorious OC, HC and GM. jmho.

Limited production for Lions' Jesse James trending further downward

Through 10 games, James has eight catches for 64 yards. His worst season of his last three in Pittsburgh was a 30-catch effort that still resulted in 423 receiving yards last season.

Somehow, the usage for the 25-year-old is trending downward, playing a season-low 15 offensive snaps in Sunday’s 35-27 loss to Dallas. He's been targeted once in the two games since Jeff Driskel has relieved injured Matthew Stafford at quarterback.

The tight ends combined to catch one pass for six yards against the Cowboys.

Limited production for Lions' Jesse James trending further downward

When James signed a four-year, $22.6 million deal with Detroit on the opening day of free agency — with $10.5 million of it guaranteed — he talked about hitting a higher ceiling for the Lions, including more red zone usage.

Instead, after the team spent the No. 8 pick in the draft on Hockenson, James has been targeted twice in the red zone, catching both but not finding the end zone.

It’s not like Hockenson and Thomas have taken the league by storm. The Lions are 18th in the NFL in receptions for tight ends with 43, despite leveraging considerable resources on an overhaul of last year’s disappointment of a position group. Hockenson’s two touchdowns have the position group tied for 24th in the league, better than just four teams.

While the stats have been absent, the blocking for James hasn’t been much better.

According to Pro Football Focus, James is rated 68th among 74 qualifying tight ends in pass blocking and 65th in run blocking...………….. BB-72.. This no doubt is bad but there is more to it in underlying issues than just simply being bad as scheme, player continuity, player cohesion, player chemistry all coincide as much as new system/OC.

but, but, but, why the hell did he draft another oft-injured and waste that draft pick when he could have easily found his first pro-bowl selected player from one of his drafts.

Lions activate 4th-round rookie Austin Bryant, place FB Nick Bawden on IR

he Lions have placed fullback Nick Bawden on injured reserve, ending his season. This is the second straight year Bawden will finish the year on IR, after losing his entire rookie season to a torn ACL. It’s unclear who will replace Bawden at fullback, but the Lions did reportedly work out four different players at that position on Tuesday: Derrick Coleman, Tommy Bohannon, Tre Madden, and Aaron Ripkowski.

Raiola was a line captain and had high marks from PFF as well. Team still was trash. The position doesn't hold nearly the weight of DE,QB,LT,LB,CB,RB,WR or S.

So the question is... Who is whispering in Quinn's ear?
Obviously it wasn't just Quinn that ran out to sign this guy the first day.
It was probably multiple coaches (I am assuming Bevell) that had Quinn's ear saying we just have to draft another TE in the top 10 after dropping 22 million on one the first day of free agency.
Why the hell can't Martha be like... Hey ginger pussy, why did you blow 22 million on a TE and now we are fucking drafting one with our first round pick?

I just don't understand why the Ford's can't just hire some competent fucking front office people?
From Millen to Mayhew to this current clown show.

Yeah, it's easy for you to say when you support two teams and your other team goes to the super bowl every year. Oh the Lions suck again. I guess I'll just enjoy watching the Pats go to the super bowl again.

Sorry but some of us are fans of only our home state team. Which currently employs all of Belichecks old diarrhea stains as GM and head coach.

It also means I can look at things with less bias. I dont overreact to every little thing.

So what am I over reacting to?
The fact that GM....
  • Fired a solid yet uninspiring coach only to hire a bad, more uninspiring coach.
  • Never drafted a pro bowler.
  • Doesn't learn from shitty GM before him by drafting top 10 TE.
  • Ships off WR that the offense is built around mid-season, tanking the offense to bottom 5 in 2018.
  • Fires OC for offense sucking afterwards without taking any responsibility for trading WR.
  • Trades starting safety for nothing mid-season, pissing off franchise CB in the process.Further bringing down team morale.
  • Gives draft capital to former team on the regular.
Head coach.....
  • Starts with playoff ready team that went 9-7 the year before.
  • Has GM that will listen to him and all the stars aligned for him to succeed.
  • Has Franchise QB in place.
  • Get's blown out his first game by turnover prone rookie QB in his first game.
  • Leads 9-7 team and turns them into bottom 8 finish in the NFL.
  • Gets another off-season to reshape and retool. Currently 10th worst team by record.
  • 30th ranked defense.
  • Team gets bent over on prime time by NFL against GB. Instead of defending his team, ALSO decides to bend over to NFL and take it.
Is there anything else I am over reacting to or is it just these things?

You are not overreacting to the last bullet. The rest yes. They are not trying to just make the playoffs or even a SB for a year. They are trying to build a dynasty. That takes time. That takes coordinators that know what they are doing. He added Bevell. Hopefully he replaces PP as well. Caldwell did as well as he was ever gonna do. Some might say he over-achieved. No other team wants him even as an OC never mind a HC.

Bob Quinn should definitely lose his job in the next two months.

There's no getting around it. He's awful.

As is Patricia. The Pats D is much better without him. No getting around it.

Dont hold your breadth. Not like he is bringing in Jordan Dizon and Mike Williams. Remember how long it took for those guys to get fired.

Looking back, Mayhew should still be our GM.

Without question the highpoint of Lions football this Millenium.
