As a reminder, Vasek started the 2019 season undergoing major back surgery which put him on the shelf for 8 months. To bounce back this quickly and be playing this well is unreal.

Canada getting some heat for defaulting the doubles match vs USA (as they had the group locked up).
could have implications for lower standing as it gave US a 6-0 6-0 win

judgement: meh. when you have players who have not been able to perform due to injury in this very same week. rest is OK.

Even with the 6-0 6-0 win, the US didn't even earn a wildcard, so a lot of social media outrage over nothing. I tweeted out yesterday that the easiest solution would have been to schedule the doubles match as the middle match of the day and thus there would be no walkovers, got a bunch of likes and my first ever retweet lol.
