kbso, my parents moved us from Philadelphia to DC in 63. I was young but was already a football fan. With Sonny (1964), Charley, Bobby Mitchell, Jerry Smith etc we had a lot of offense but little defense. Then came Coach Lombardi. We became relevant and it was great and eventually Coach Gibbs was hired.

I would say I felt down some after a loss but I always felt we can turn it around the next week. There is no hope under Snyder. The closest I felt like we came to that was when Cousins was QB.

There just aren't the Redskin fans that were once here. Maybe they exist but who wants to wear colors when you can't beat my old HS team? Hell, how can you get excited about anything. If you have a player like Antonio Pierce or Kirk Cousins or many others you let them go. It is hard to get excited when you feel like if they start to get it right they will screw it up again.

Not 1-9 teams like 1961 like I said
Maybe not 1-9, but we had some very bad stretches. But the fan base never quit. This time it’s different. The have, for the most part.

It's not even the losing or the 1-9 record. I cheered like crazy for that Pettibone team. It's the arrogance, incompetence, and the unwillingness to accept or even acknowledge the disfunction and complete disarray.

Our owner is still hijacking the football people's draft board. I can do a rebuild, but this is our THIRD rebuild under Bruce. The Rams, and Eagles have both been to the Super Bowl multiple times with two completely different teams. Those franchises built two Superbowl teams in the time span of Dan running this team and its fanbase completely into the ground.

I will watch, I will root if it makes sense. Right now it doesnt. However, I will not give Dan another dime of my money until he fires Bruce Allen.

We cannot let Bruce pick the next coach.

The fans at the stadium chanting "sell the team," think they are being loyal. They are validating these two boobs with their presence and their money.

Do they really think that Dan and Bruce care about that little chant Sunday. NO! They care more about the empty seats that surrounded those poor souls who tried to make their voice heard.

And again who mentioned the “ streak “ I didn’t

I said 1961 , the last time we were this awful with little hope

It doesnt appear as though you are actually making any point at all, skinsdad.

In any case, it doesnt matter. As stated previously, the redskins had sellouts during the years when they won as little as 3 games. When they were an embarrassment for 3 straight years. When they had new coaches and gms.

This feels different.

stadium revenues arent much compared to TV and radio income and the internet

and as i have said and have posted something from twitter on , is i am not going to pass on an opportunity to see my team at the stadium because people "think " it will work in making him sell the team or fire bruce

if you think that , that opinion is a problem , so be it, but i am not letting anyone dictate to me what i should do with my time , my fandom , or my money over some pipe dream . snyder isnt selling the team . if you dont get that i cant help you . he will keep it for 40 plus years till he dies

your only hope is after 20 plus years of losing he will "see the light " and get rid of yes men like brucifer . the rooney's took 40 , the fords are still at it and the bidwells are too and they still own inept teams (steelers aside )

in the mean time i am going to watch the team everytime i can losing or not and if i see merchandise i like anywhere in the country or online i will purchase it

its the 7th most valuable franchise in the NFL and top 25 in the world with this circus going on so have at it with what you feel is right

I never said Dan would sell the team. I'm not telling you what to do with your fandom. I'm just stating my opinion. I need Dan to be so completely embarrassed and broken to the point where he changes his approach on how he owns the team. We all know he's not selling it.

It's very simple. Hire a well respected and knowledgeable football mind. Give him complete control and put in the contract that if he intervenes on player personnel matters or fires him without cause that the GM gets to walk away with millions.

Secondly, let that GM pick a no nonsense coach that actually has the chops and the intellect to run a team. Not a false bravado dinosaur like Callahan.

Lastly, sit the fuck down and allow these two to restore your reputation and the team's.

I agree, have another Gibbs era record and Redskins fever will run rampant again. Maybe next owner, and that is the problem.

Wasn't a whole lot of effort behind the chant and as you say kb, merely being there sends the wrong message.

You can be a fan, own the team and get the hell out of the way to let other competent football people run operations. The decision to not allow this to happen has NOTHING to do with Dan being a fan. It has everything to do with his ego, arrogance, business acremen and the company he keeps and this little devil on Dan's shoulder that keeps telling him to, "Do it your way Dan, you own the team lil fuker"! Thus, we stay in the ridiculous cycle of incompetence!

I was listening to Sheehan yesterday and this guy named Ian who always calls in had a great take.

It's more than Dan just being a fan. That is part of it. The real reason Dan won't sell the team is because, who is Dan Snyder without the Redskins? He's just another billionaire with a yacht.

He goes ape shit when he can't find his putt putt buddy Bruce. He obviously has no friends. Why do you think he attaches himself to guys like Portis and goes bowling with RG3?

Do you really think Matthew McConaughey or Dale Earnhardt Jr. would give Dan the time of day if he didn't own their favorite team? Hell no!

He'd be a short, socially awkward recluse that no one would want to be around except for a yes man or two. He has one of the most prized and glamorous jobs in the country. The NFL is the number one rated TV show in the country.

The Skins have made him infamous, but more importantly, they have made him a celebrity.

I would not argue your statement of prized and glamorous jobs in the country but when it is run so poorly you would have to think that is embarrassing. People everywhere think the same thing. My guess is he intends to prove them wrong. :pound::pound::pound:Much to the detriment of Redskin fans.

I dont think Dan is embarrassed yet. He has Bruce in his ear telling him its Scot's fault, its Jay's fault, it's the fans selling their ticket on the aftermarket.

I honestly think he's delusional. We've hit rock bottom, but I dont think Dan has. When the Skins score on Sundays, of course I cheer and I get happy. It's almost like a reflex or muscle memory. However, once they start getting blown out and the game is lost, a huge part of me wants it to get as bad as possible.

I need Dan to be completely humiliated and broken. That's the only way he will change his approach toward the way he owns this team.

He stepped aside for Joe and even Scot for a little while. He's like Darth Vader and we are Luke. "I've seen the good in you. Bruce hasn't driven it from you fully." lol

i dont think it will work . until dan has a " come to jesus " talk with himself about this organization it wont matter no matter how much " humiliation " you pile on with

he has got to know brucifer is 60 - 100 during his tenure and he isnt cutting the mustard

a big step is unloading brucifer and then things have a chance to change

All the box seats that are empty, the concessions, parking, merch....its a shot in the dark, but it's the only way imo. I'm boycotting everything except the game on tv. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't going to watch. I love this team. I'm a grown man who blogs about them daily, but I love this team enough to know that enabling Dan with my financial resources is only going to delay the process that needs to take place.

You see Dan wants a stadium more than anything. I dont see Md, DC, or Va stepping up to give him a stadium when he can't even fill the one he's got.

Dan knows he probably has to start winning to get his stadium or hope Bezos builds one for him.
