This game is mostly garbage, but that Frost goal. That was nice. One of the more individually skilled goals we’ve seen in a while. Comes back a shift later with a nice move and puts someone into the boards.

Alright Morgan Frost.

Wanted: power play unit that works. Must have all new parts and be interchangable. Needs to have new polished tools and must be noticible.

That 3rd period gives me hope that Grioux-Frost-Konecny can be a 2nd productive line. Konecny was a monster in the 3rd.

Voracek, Hayes, and JvR either completely invisible or visible in a bad way.

Cant just wait for the 3rd period to start playing though.

Though Pitlick and Raffl had good, energetic nights.

Alright Morgan Frost.
Frost definitely has superior offensive talent but its easy to see why Farabee was the choice over Frost to start the year. Farabee plays a far superior 200 foot game. Im not judging only by last night ive seen Frost play a couple of OHL games and a LV game this season.

I see that JVR was pulled from the PP1 unit. Maybe we can start getting pp goals now from the top unit.

Gee looked like he was 25 years old again. Playing with line mates who could skate. I think Gee will be getting his points at his regular pace now that the anchor if off of his line.

I'd be good with that too. I think AV is trying to get someone else going by putting TK with G and Frost. The way they're playing, I don't think it matters who you put on a line with Lindblom and Couturier, good things will happen. So they're hoping TK's solid play can help drive a 2nd line to respectability.
Last night was a perfect example of why AV shouldn't have broken up every line. There wasn't one line out there that new what their defensive assignment was.

You definitely have a point here. The d zone was a mess last night.

I'm glad they called him up, especially if he can keep providing some offensive spark. They've scored more than 2 regulation goals just once in their last 7 games. They need more offense.

I like Farabee and all, but to be honest, I don't see anything super special from him. Maybe I've just missed the games where he's been 'on', but he just seems like another guy out there. He seems pretty capable defensively, but he doesn't bring much in the offensive zone. At least to my eye. Obviously he's young and will hopefully improve, but I think he's been a little overrated by some to this point. Hopefully he lives up to the praise he's received so far.

I will agree with this both on Frost and Farabee.

Frost can provide offense we have seen him do it at every level so i dont see why he wouldn't be able to provide it on our team.

Farabee his 200 foot game is excellent for such a young player. His offensive game i have three excuse for him at this point which will change over time and he will get better offensively.
1-He is only 19
2-He has gotten hit in the face with a stick almost every game hes played he must get used to playing without a mask
3-This is the most important: Hes been saddled playing with the laziest player in the NHL and its like playing 4 on 5 when you are on JVR's line.

If we took a carton of eggs and put it in the net and Justin Braun took his hardest shot and hit it do you think any eggs will crack?

This also would work for his dump outs on the PK

That was a winnable game and our defense simply blew it for the first 30-40 minutes. We can blame Hart's growing pains for the second goal against, but then again, that's kind of a one in a thousand type shot which finds a way from behind the goal line and in. Maybe if we weren't leaving guys wide open in front of the net, Hart would be more aware of that low percentage play.

Nice push in the 3rd period, but absolutely no payoff for it. The goal by Frost was a very high skill play that leaves us salivating at what he could potentially do for us offensively in the future. Not many guys can elevate the puck right under the bar from that close to the net, let alone in their very first Nhl game at age 20. He absolutely made Bob look bad on that play.
