It's very early, but I am worried. McMullen was a third rounder, but like Arcega Whiteside he was a guy that dominated in college with his size advantage, but struggled to separate in the pros.

Have we seen this movie before? Discuss.

The big and most obvious one is DK Metcalf, who went to the Seahawks a few picks later, and has 600 yards and 5 TDs so far this year. Looks like a keeper.

Two others are Terry McClaurin and Miles Boykin, who have looked good as rookies. Both went in the 3rd round. McClaurin also has 5 TDs on his rookie season to date.

I don't understand why the Eagles simply refuse to give JJ snaps. They picked up everyone's reject Jordan Matthews off the street and gave him 64 snaps compared to JJ's 19 snaps (Matthews 6 yards on 6 targets to JJ's 29 yards on 1 target). You can't produce if your team doesn't play you. Mack Hollins can't even get a catch yet he's played a million snaps this season???

All teams are giving PT and targets to their rookies ... we on the other hand play a proven bum like Jordan Matthews over ours. JJ looked great at Camp and did great during the preseason .... but now he can't sniff the field.

I cannot figure any other reason that falls anywhere else but this dipshit position coach. They are all so enamoured with the system and Matthews knows it. But why doesn't JJAW? Perhaps he isn't bright, but I feel the issue could be more with coaching at this point.

Still....all that said....someone like Metcalf could crash to earth in yrs 2-3 and someone like JJAW could burst onto the scene. Too early to say yet.

He went to Stanford and played in Shaw's west coast offense, I can't really see him being not bright enough to catch on to the route tree.

Bring in Jay Gruden after this season!

I saw on Facebook where a guy was reviewing JJ. He appears to be running good routes and is getting open. My question is why isn't Wentz seeing him. Wentz did hit him when JJ came back on a scramble drill. Way early to tell if he is good or not but this kid went to Stanford so I doubt he isn't smart enough to understand the playbook.

It seems like Wentz is being held back. Doug needs to tell him to let go and play football. I think he has too many voices in his head telling him to stay in the pocket because we can't afford to lose him. I am not sure what is going on but this all comes back to coaching.

They need so sit Nelly and give this kid a chance. He isn't a burner at 4.43 but he can play this game.

I listened to a good Podcast about the video review of the game this morning. They made some good points about how this was Wentz's "pump fake" game. He did it a lot. As they went over many plays they made some speculative (educated speculative, if you will) points that the timing was all off with these receivers and they were not where they were supposed to be, or in their breaks, when Carson went to throw. They REALLY picked on Jordan Matthews about this. I think this is a big thing when you have a rhythm offense.

The problem, is Wentz is not hearing the correct voices because they're not here anymore. We need a seasoned, good, OC, and the same for a WR coach.

Also, Nelly has had 4 years now to grow, and he has regressed, so they will try to trade him or just offer a tender to recoup a comp pick.

Coaching, Wentz, WR’s.....it’s all off and that starts with Pederson. The lack of quality personnel is on Howie.

Absolutely on both points, but they better get a sharp OC, and QB coach, and WR coach, or else it will be the same old next year.
