I was surprised at how much of a non-factor Mack was for the majority of the game. I hardly heard his name mentioned at all.

Same here!!! And yet we heard Donald's name on almost every snap in one way or another

Besides all of the chaos going on on offense, another emerging problem is with Greg Zuerlein. He has now missed 5 FGs this year. This is more than any other year since he has been a Ram. The distance is not necessarily the problem. He has missed several 50+ yarders and a couple, less than 50 yards. Perhaps it is time to begin the search for another kicker who is consistent, younger, and can kick 50 plus yarder FGs with consistency.

I will have to disagree with you Retro, I've always been a Zuerlein fan, I remember a couple years ago everyone was ready to get rid of him. He's still one of the better kickers in the game, there's only one guy in the league this year that has hit a higher % of his 50 yarders.
He also missed 8 Fg's his rookie year and a few years ago he missed 10.
Out of kickers with at least 20 Xtra point attempts I think there are only 5 that have made all of them, Zuerlein being one of them, Xtra points are not automatic any more. Kickers the past few years haven't been
very good.
Zuerlein might not be the best any more, but I still think he's up there with the best. Missed FG's are not always on the kicker?

Good win, defense looked good, but than again the Bears aren't very good. Oline looked good against a very good Bear defense, Mack was a non factor.
Hekker averaged over 50 yards a punt.
Considering we were without Cooks and Woods, Reynolds stepped up!
Still 2 turnovers, 2 very costly penalties that gave the ball back to Chicago, those things need to be cleaned up, against a good team those would have cost us!

Overall Rams haven't played well this season, best game was against Seattle, IN SEATTLE, and could have won the game if Greg hits the game ending FG.

Baltimore will be a huge test, on a Monday night, we seem to ALWAYS struggle against scrambling QB's, and Jackson will be a HUGE test!

Any chance for the playoffs Rams have to beat Balt, Sea, Dal, and SF, Ari twice wont be easy, but we will have to go 5-1 in those games!!!

The Rams had a double team on Mack for most of the game and the NEW Rams O-line won that battle. I hope they can keep it up next week because the Rams will need to put points on the board against the Ravens.

You got that right, I use to go there with my grandfather for breakfast before work each day. Back then they had a good breakfast cheeseburger with a fried egg on it. It would stay with you all day roofing houses.
But to go there today and at night? no way!

I don't know if McVay was hiding these formations and the run game until now as a strategy or if he even reads or watches what people are saying about Gurley and the run game but he finally went to and presented the foundation of a solid offense by running the Jumbo offense and everything done offensively in this game came out of that run-committed approach. This offensive approaches now makes a very good defense even better because it sends a message of confidence and faith in old-school football!

It wasn't pretty and flashy like everyone still want but it is old school and that foundation can beat people like Belicheat and others who have figured-out our pass-happy offense. When you have resurrected the fullback position with McQuaide as our FB, have your TEs and WRs as pulling lead blockers for Gurley-featured running plays, and you have found a new, younger, and better O-line to provide stability the likes we have not witnessed since say Week 2-3, then you have set-up an offense that can still be explosive but can always return to the run which in itself makes us very dangerous. Not flashy, but powerful and deadly and people like Belicheat can't just think he is going to shut us down and expect a walk.

Moreover, this Jumbo offense takes the pressure off Goff until he gets his confidence back that has been shredded by a porous O-line. Against the Bears, Goff was more confident in his throws and he wasn't flinching as before expecting the hit and/or sack. His passes were crisp and direct and he was nailing the deep ball way better and a return to that bomb he threw to Cooks way earlier in the season.

This new line looks very good as they are feeding off of the energy and power of the right side of the line with Edwards and Evans. Blythe is a better Center than he is a Guard but he was still missing blocks. At some point he needs to be evaluated worth going into the future with this guy. Corbett did a helluva job at right guard and we have really found our Saffold replacement.

I believe Allen is done as a Center for the Rams and I am quite sure Havenstein may be held back with his injury for some time because Evans played so well. If Evans continues on his successful path and Edwards as well, the Rams have found their present/future right side of the O-line and it is already a damn good one. Havenstein may now be trade bait along with Allen.

In short, Kudos to genius boy to finally re-define himself and his offense as well as the team. I believe we are on the right track and I hope McVay does not deviate from this to go back to a pass-happy offense just yet. A real big test is coming Monday night and if we force the Ravens D to play the run we will win a close game. If McVay goes back to pass-happy, we will come out of that game with an L and all but done with any post-season trip this year.
