Go look at that helmet swing to this one. It's not all that comparable. Smith ripped Incognito's helmet off and swung it at him basically all in one or two motions. It's not really all that comparable to this one. Garrett went full swing and purposefully targeted the guy without protection.

I just watched the video (damn I went to bed too early). Garrett is done for the season. I don't think there is any question about that.

I think the only debate is going to be how many games next year if any he misses. And no lawyer is going to be able to stop the NFL from laying down that punishment.

next year? cheese and rice. let's just give him the electric chair. my God.

I only saw a two minute clip of the play in question, so I can't comment on what happened prior to said incident. From that perspective, I didn't see roughing the passer by Garrett on the takedown of Rudolph. For whatever reason, Rudolph goes for Garretts helmet and that's when Myles snaps.

Garrett should be tossed for the rest of the year...but Rudolph and Pouncey ain't innocent either.
Wait, what is Rudolph guilty of? Being attacked by Garrett??

Did Rudolph start it? In my view Garrett started it by continuing going at the qb well after the ball was out. Rudolph escalated it, the Myles went full psycho when a qb had the gall to defend himself against his bullshit.

Maybe Myles thinks Mason still has the ball, he was just taking down the QB so I donr see a huge issue. You could see Mason was getting frustrated from his terrible night and took it out after that play, maybe if he doesnt try to rip Myles helmet off...Myles remains calm? Idk. Either way hitting someone with a helmet is beyond ridiculous. I am surprised but not totally surprised. Myles has been one of the most penalized players in the league so far, very undisclipined which is not like him. Pretty crazy and selfish act.

Kitchens has lost control of this team. He needs to go, this team is entirely different team under him.

I agree Rudolph escalated it first, but he sure as hell didnt start it.

yea. the media is like a dog with a new bone. the way they act, Garrett was the only one involved. If you watch the replay closely, Rudolph was trying to rip Garretts helmet off while on the ground - which is what started the entire thing.

but the media has the video of Garrett swinging his helmet and thats all they care about. Rudolph should've been ejected too.
Well, that didn't start the whole thing.

Garrett initiated a late hit, and continued to wrestle with Randolph, which is why Randolph retaliated ripping at the helmet.

They were both in the wrong, but Miles was clearly the instigator.

I'd say the over aggressive tackle by Garrett started it.

bullshit. that was a normal takedown of a QB that Myles thought still had the ball. Mason started it by talking a bunch of shit while they were on the ground and trying to remove Garrett's helmet........

I mean, Garrett acted like an idiot and deserves whatever he gets

but I gotta say

As a fan I have been on the other side of lopsided scores and cheap shots at the hands of the Steelers.

I sure dont mind being on the other side this time.

I've had the benefit of seeing multiple times...

Rudolph responded like he did imo because the ball was gone really before Garrett made contact. I'm guessing in his mind there was no reason for Garrett to take him to the ground...it's the freakin end of the game.

IMO...no big deal on the QB.

Garrett...his response to it was WWE except it was real. No other way to explain it.

Pouncey...it was good to see him come to the defense of his QB, but he's going to miss a game.

Garret is done for the year, and the other Dl who got ejected will get a game or two himself for pushing Randolph in the back.

Pouncey deserves his suspension too, but fuck, after what Garrett did, I love him. Wear that suspension proudly, man.

The big negative is Randolph (who certainly wasn't blameless in this sequence of events.) gets a sympathy reprieve from this and is less likely to lose his starting job.

On second thought I'm ok with him getting sympathy if Cleveland gets another shot at him.

And as pointed out with VIDEO EVIDENCE this is ABSOLUTE AND COMPLETE BS. The moment Rudolph releases the ball, Garret has actually already initiated the tackle. Garrett actually has already grabbed Rudolph (literally hanging off his shirt) when the ball is still over a yard away from the RB/WR (who was less than 8 yards away from the QB). Between Rudolph releasing the ball and Garrett having Rudolph on the ground and RELEASED is under 1,5 seconds!

All this is whitewashing inexcusable behaviour from a childish punk QB, who actually provoked the whole incident, and brought the helmet hitting his head upon himself. And afterwards was an outright crybaby liar, of course whitewashed by Aikman.

It's a fair point that given the situation no real reason for Myles to go that hard on the play

I disagree. An attempted kick to the head of a helmeted player does not equal a helmet being slammed onto the head of an unprotected player

The same player who started with trying (and nearly succeeding) in ripping the helmet off of the player who swung at him, and when the two are separated and the other player is more or less under control (and definitely hampered in being able to defend himself) decides to charge him and re-engage in the confrontation)?
