Your comebacks are weak sauce and you deserve to have the stupid slapped off your face.

Nah. If he pitched to them, 2 things would have been different.

1) wouldn't happen on a Saturday

2) it wouldn't be a last minute notice like this. Would have been planned weeks or months ago
Is Saturday a bad day for these?

Seems pointless to me. His career has been over for years because he wanted it to be.

He might be as good as some back-ups but he doesn't think he should make back-up money. Didn't he turn down some decent money with SF and the Broncos?

Not in SF. When Shanahan was hired in SF, Kap's time in SF was done.

The NFL on Thursday announced that 11 teams would be attending the workout: the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Giants, New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Washington Redskins.

Which of those 11 teams are more likely to sign him, given that he does enough to be considered for a contract?

I'm really surprised they are on this list. Not saying Baker is great right now, but he's 100% got the potential to be a great QB in the future.

None of them. None of them has $18M/yr to give to a backup QB who hasn't taken a snap in 3 years.

I'm thinking that the money aspect of a deal would have been discussed up front before these teams committed to spending the time to send someone to Atlanta to see him workout. At least I would think that would be the case. Not saying the contract details have been discussed but you'd think that teams would have asked qualifying questions to his agent regarding what he's looking for in terms of salary.

I don't know if that's the best way to phrase it. Was he invited to work out? I thought he was just working out and invited teams to come see.
Was part of his settlement with the NFL. They had to host him for teams to come see.

This is promising. Teams are actually reaching out inquiring about this workout. I hope he gets an offer.
Why? Specifically, why do you hope he gets an offer?

Doesn’t look like it. It appears that 2-3 times since the cut from SF, teams were willing to sign him and he said no because they couldn’t agree on compensation. He was always going to take a hit from $19M/yr contract, but whatever he might have earned in 2016 has taken further drops with his stupid protests, false claims of vein blackballed and frankly being out of football for so long. The guy is 32 yrs old now and hasn’t taken a snap in 3 years. The list of teams willing to employ a primary backup QB like that is pretty short (less than 11, I’d say), and even shorter when Kaepernick has made clear he thinks he deserves more than backup money.

I think it’s likely some team does offer Kaepernick a job stemming from this spectacle. But it’s equally likely that Kaepernick turns down the offer because the terms of compensation (low salary and/or heavily based on incentives) inflame his delicate sensibilities.

I think he can still play. In his last year, he was 2nd in the league in TD-INT ratio, only behind Tom Brady. 11 starts, 16 TDs and just 4 INTs. 81 rushing yards per game as well. Yeah, the team didn't win games, SOME of that is on him but the 49ers at the time were a shit show altogether. People like to pin 2016 all on Kaep but that defense was dead last in the league in points allowed per game and when defending the run. Statistically, the offense was the best part of that team in 2016. It's not a fluke that he led the Niners to 2 straight NFC title games either, but once Harbaugh left, he didn't fit the mold there anymore.

I'm not saying he could start Week 1 for every team or even half of the teams, but he was, in 2016, one of the top 64 QBs in the league AT MINIMUM. Looking at QB situations right now, and who the backups are for each team, he could still be one of the top 64 QBs in the league.

I've been a Kaepernick fan/defender for all these years but I will say this. If he doesn't show up and show out during this workout, he's got no one to blame but himself for not having a job. This is probably the only shot he's gonna get to work out for the NFL. He needs to be all business and focused on showing these teams what he can do and what he's done over the last 3 years to stay in football shape, physically and mentally.

There's been no confirmation that he's ever been offered a contract by a team aside from the Ravens. Seahawks had a meeting with him but nothing was offered. No one else has even touched the guy to be able to offer him a contract.

I doubt he is asking for that. It wouldn't even make sense for him to ask for $18M/yr. It's been repeated often by many people, but the narrative that Kaepernick has asked for a lot of money is a false one. He's never received an offer from any team after he became a free agent in 2017, and I haven't read any report that any salary negotiations took place with any team.

I don't believe the Ravens made an offer either. No team has.
