True, and they are acting like they care more about their image now. Problem is they set the 3 game precedence and a good lawyer could make it the base for discipline.

Go look at that helmet swing to this one. It's not all that comparable. Smith ripped Incognito's helmet off and swung it at him basically all in one or two motions. It's not really all that comparable to this one. Garrett went full swing and purposefully targeted the guy without protection.

I just watched the video (damn I went to bed too early). Garrett is done for the season. I don't think there is any question about that.

I think the only debate is going to be how many games next year if any he misses. And no lawyer is going to be able to stop the NFL from laying down that punishment.

I only saw a two minute clip of the play in question, so I can't comment on what happened prior to said incident. From that perspective, I didn't see roughing the passer by Garrett on the takedown of Rudolph. For whatever reason, Rudolph goes for Garretts helmet and that's when Myles snaps.

Garrett should be tossed for the rest of the year...but Rudolph and Pouncey ain't innocent either.

Yeah Pouncey will get a game or two off for the kicks/stomps.

Surmised nicely. That's the only thing of this I'm not understanding. That everyone seems to be glossing over that Rudolph started it.

Considering the tremendous amount of fallout I'm sure Myles is done for the year. And he will have to tread lightly going forward. Just a very senseless and selfish act by him.

Unaffected or not there is absolutely no excuse to swing a helmet or any other football gear to the head of a player.

I'm certainly not defending Garrett. Beardown was arguing that Pouncey's attempts to kick Garrett on the ground were no big deal because he didn't make real contact. It doesn't matter if he made contact.

Garrett should get at least six games.

I just watched the clip (didn't see the whole play, just when they are on the ground) and it's very apparent that Rudolph has his hands on Garrett's helmet, prior to Garrett going ballistic.

Doesn't excuse what Garrett did, but the argument could be made that he was provoked.
Not sure how to defend the helmet swing that came moments later, but this depends on how the NFL wants to contain this and whether or not they need to set a precedent and make a statement here with a 16-game ban.

I could see for the rest of the season and some fines for others.

I went to bed too early I see. Garret is done for the year most likely for that full helmet swing as he should be, there is no excuse for that. I certainly give him credit for admitting it and not sugar coating his actions. I know I just said hes done this year but the more I think about it, I am taking a slight pause in that since we all know how inconsistent the league is a out handing out fines and suspensions.

Now I am sure Rudolph is a guilty instigator but watch him only get a small fine since hes a QB and the league bends over backwards for them. Also, I don't think he's been involved in any other incidents so that helps his case.

Indefinite suspension. Probably be criminally charged today.

Poor Rudolph couldn't beat Baker in college and now can't beat him in the pro's either.

Garret is done for the year, and the other Dl who got ejected will get a game or two himself for pushing Randolph in the back.

Pouncey deserves his suspension too, but fuck, after what Garrett did, I love him. Wear that suspension proudly, man.

The big negative is Randolph (who certainly wasn't blameless in this sequence of events.) gets a sympathy reprieve from this and is less likely to lose his starting job.

Garrett is lucky he got off that field in one piece.

Will be really lucky if he gets out of Cleveland without being disabled.

Other than Bertuzzi, never seen anything this uncalled for.

I don't know about criminal charges. Seems like that would come down to who initiated the fight (i.e. when did the tackle end and fight start, I don't know if they have a replay booth in criminal courts), and whether Myles could claim he was defending himself.

Did Rudolph start it? In my view Garrett started it by continuing going at the qb well after the ball was out. Rudolph escalated it, the Myles went full psycho when a qb had the gall to defend himself against his bullshit.

Then Rudolph attempts an assault first - as he tries to rip Garretts helmet off.

Garrett subsequently only swings when - while being pushed away by De Castro - Rudolph charges from several yards away AROUND De Castro at him. Garretts swing with the hlemet is in clear reaction to Rudolph charging him.

yea. the media is like a dog with a new bone. the way they act, Garrett was the only one involved. If you watch the replay closely, Rudolph was trying to rip Garretts helmet off while on the ground - which is what started the entire thing.

but the media has the video of Garrett swinging his helmet and thats all they care about. Rudolph should've been ejected too.

Pouncey not only charges and swings at a player who is already defenseless (being held by De Castro), and then (when said player is on the ground) tries to deliberately kick him in the head (whether he actually makes contact is not clear).

So yeah that is two strikes.... and the trying to kick Garret in the head is what pushes it beyond a 'whatever Garret gets' suspension.
I disagree. An attempted kick to the head of a helmeted player does not equal a helmet being slammed onto the head of an unprotected player

imo, when a brawl breaks out, it's usually started by one single action by one player. Special punishment should be given out for being the one that starts it.
