Ok...fair, but if they were playing BAL next week...I can see them looking past CLE a little bit, but they don't have the margin for error for a trap game... they should still be in desperate mode to be honest.
Sure. Possibly.

They just aren't putting in long nights this week preparing for the Bengals at the expense of Cle, right now.

Exactly.

Considering traveling teams have only 2 full prep days after the game on Sunday...Mon & Tues, Wed is a travel day. They might get one day on the field doing walk thru or something in CLE since it's such a short trip.

It's too bad the long week is wasted on Cincy next, rather than Baltimore, or the Bills.

But my god, the remaining schedule looks like such cake, outside of those two. Win out, and that final game at M&T could decide who is 2nd seed, and who is 5th seed.

Trap? Interesting thought.

I would hope not. The Steelers aren't even considered favorites here. The Browns are, and it's at home for them.

I don't think Tomlin has gotten to the point where his luxury 'looking past the opponent' mindset can activate.

By trap I'm just being pessimistic. Everything seems to be going well for the Steelers. For the first time all year the talking heads are on board. There's an excitement around the team for the first time since we lost Ben. Which leads me to expect an inexplicable loss. I'm figuring that if that happens it will be more because the Browns with their backs against the wall play better than expected (Ward/Greedy/Garrett) rather than the Steelers dropping the ball.

Samuels is the perfect RB for Mason, considering his dink and dunk nature. Just need to balance out his load with plenty of Conner between the tackles.
I wonder how much of this dink and dunk is Mason's nature and how much is our WR failing to get open.

Separation has always been Lima...er, JuJu's kryptonite.

He also appears to be completely blind to TE routes. Which might be why the most eligible tackle ever gets so much play time. If he won't look their way, may as well keep them in to block.

As always it's probably a combination of things, but your comment on separation did make me look at the all22 with a focus on the WR routes. I'll say this watching Juju specifically vs Ramsey...coming out of his breaks he was open on every pattern he ran on the very 1st series and quite often thru out the game...the biggest issue I can see, often Mason still has the ball in his hands when the WRs are coming out of their breaks.

Like a lot of young QBs...anticipation throws are not his strong suit yet.

That is excellent to know. I hadn't really had the chance to look at many of JuJu's routes this year so far and was just going on the talking heads in Pittsburgh who claim that none of the WR are getting separation or getting open. And that was the big knock on JuJu coming out. A QB like Ben doesn't need an open WR to get him the ball. He just pin-points it in there. A young QB maybe not so much. I thought that might explain the down-tick in JuJu's numbers too some.

What have you noticed in other games in this regard?

I need to learn how to take screen shots from the tape and post them. I can do still shots, but video, I haven't figured out yet.

Most vet QBs especially one on Ben's level...the passing game is more about timing, when the WRs are coming out of the break the ball is right there, you don't need 2 yds of separation....heck if the ball is thrown to the correct side, away from the defender, a half yd of separation is enough. If you wait another second or two the WR will look "covered" because the route is effectively over when the WR comes out of the break.

Mason is a tad slow releasing it...That's nothing unique to him though...many young QBs are little reluctant to throw it until they "see" the WR open...whereas as Ben anticipates the WR getting to a spot.

Now, it can look really bad when the WR hangs the QB out to dry by stopping the route early, or is not where the QB expects him to be on those anticipation throws.

is chuks playing RT tonight? if so yikes

I doubt it...Foster was a full practice participant on Tues..that should put Feiler back to RT....maybe not every snap, but the beast (#95) was lining up on the right side of the DL most of the time last week. Vernon is out this week, but the youngster Chad Thomas better not be forgotten.

Nix and Switzer to Ir.

Rosie's is a loss, but he also hasn't been on the field much this year.

Switzer is a sweet mercy.

Completely brutal. Looks like the defense we saw in Week 1. And the offense is beyond atrocious, nothing at all is working.

i got ragged on hard, by mostly steeler fans, for saying our RB situation stunk. That we had nothing behind conner. That Samuels is not a RB. look where we are
