Props to the clips though, they deserved it. Lebron had a subpar game...and I think he overdeferred to AD at times

Yeah, he tried to force it in to AD too much. He turned the ball over about 4 times in the 4th and I think 3 were trying to force it to AD.

Big Mama Mecca's Hot Takes

1. Kawhi is a Monster

2. Davis is a MONSTER

3. Danny Green still has plenty left in the tank

4. The Lakers supporting cast is trash, outside of Green, Kuz, Rondo

5. The Clippers bench is fucking ferocious.

6. We need a real Center

7. LeBron and AD will be broken by January if they have to play that many minutes to win.

8. IT'S JUST ONE GAME, CALM DOWN

Lakers shot 40% from 3--- hit 13 three's. No Paul George. Danny Green put up 28 on 10/14 shooting.

If you would have told me all that would happen pre-game I would have thought a very solid Lakers win.

Clippers are a gritty, well put together team.

I think it would be hard for anyone to dispute that Kawhi is the best player in the world at this point.

Rondo and Kuzma will be coming back of course- so you wont see some of these bench guys get such significant minnutes- but I would not want to have to rely on KCP (a poor man's JR Smith) off the bench. Dwight Howard has not heart (and forget genitalia). McGee and Howard basically do the same thing. Avery Bradley is cooked.

Green looked great- clutch and is a hugely needed 3 point threat.

I would put Caruso on the court. I know they have to give Bradley a chance- but at some point it would not surprise me if Caruso got a decent amount of the minutes that were give to Cook and Bradley.

absolutely cannot have LeBron playing 36 a night. It was opening night- i get it- I dont expect that trend to continue- but if it does it will be a mistake.

Last night's crowd was 70/30 at the start and that might be generous.

It's a Lakers town, always will be.

But, the Clippers are better and have been for the last 6 years.

I'm ok with that.

I want the Cavs to win but if they lose thats fine too.

Goals this year:

1. Develop the young kids--- Sexton, Garland, Windlar, Porter Jr., Osman (sort of a kid);

2. Keep your top 10 protected lotto pick- this is CRUCIAL;

3. Get assets for expiring contracts and useful rotation players like Clarkson, Knight, Thompson, Delly, Henson;

4. Have Beilen establish his system and adjust to the NBA game; and

5. Keep an open mind on Kevin Love- see how much value he has to the young guys- as a leader, drawing attention away from them on offense, etc. If someone blows you away with an offer- make a deal- if not- do not force it. His game should age well.

I'm not calm.

Clippers are winning the title once they get that real Center
Baby steps....

I was bummed out that we didn't get Morris.

But, Harkless stepped up.

Makes me happy to know that our teams helped each other get a much needed piece.

Still.....

Gotta get that big.

McGee and Howard are only scoring threats on love and putbacks.

So, we can get away with Trezl and Jamychal...who both balled out.

Can't do that against Embiid, Jokic, Kanter etc.

Clippers have a very deep, athletic rotation. Being able to bring guys like Harrell and Williams off the bench is amazing. These are guys that know their roles and have specific NBA skill sets that just play so well in today's game.

Beverely did not do anything on offense but is still a terror defensively.

When PG comes back this team is going to be ridiculous. Its just built so well for today's game. 1-8 the roster is just so impressive.

Rockets and Blazers don't stand a chance against the Clippers. Their strengths plays right into the Clippers defense strengths.

Hard to see either team winning more than 1 game in a 7 game series. I give Portland more of a chance due to the Nurkic and Whiteside factor

Yep.

Davis looked spent.

I get it.

He's ingraciating himself with AD.

But, he needed to take over in the 4th.

Spot on. I think Lebron and AD will probably play more minutes early in the season because the Lakers have something like 9 new players. So they'll want to get everyone used to playing together.

But yeah, if Lebron has to play 36 a night for them to win games, they're going to be in trouble.

Agree about Caruso. He gives a little different look and looks to be better than Bradley at this point.

KCP frustrates the hell out of me. In the last pre-season game, he scored 25 points. Last night? 0 points in 27 minutes.

It's feast of famine with him. You can live with that from a bench player, but not when it seems like it's more famine than feast.

Clippers need to move out of LA fast.

Can't have a future best of 7 game series feeling like all road games

I'm still nervous about Zubac.

Beverley?

He's the kinda fucker you hate unless he plays for your team....lol
