Seahawks and Lions made a trade. Seahawks get Quandre Diggs and a 7th rounder in 2021. We give up a 5th rounder next year.

I know nothing about Diggs.

At least we're trying... He was named team capt to at the beginning of the season and a pro bowl alternate in 2018 so he can't be too bad... Thompson needs to be replaced... He's giving up too many big plays...

He's the younger brother of Quintin Jammer, former SD Charger DB...

Friend of mine who is a Longhorns/Seahawks fan is super excited about this trade. He has spent a bunch of time playing CB as well which I like since it gives us some versatility.

He was a pretty good safety last year but struggled with some injuries. Rumor is Lions were going to let him walk since they have some younger guys they want to plug in. Lions fans seem pissed about it but that can mean whatever.

Either way secondary has been really all over the place this year. Tons of WIDE open guys even when the pass rush hits, so I'm fine with any change/improvement.

This was not the Diggs I was hoping for...... but yeah a lot of lions fans on my twitter were pissed about this and putting up stats really doesn't say much about you as a safety with DBs its all about the eye test. With Mcdougal and hill playing hurt the team needed help at safety so he is an experienced young player which is great I think this is a move that needed to get done.

This is a move that will allow the Hawks to play some of the defenses they were use to playing with 5 or 6 DB/s on the field and not lose much in the way of stopping the run. Diggs is a very quick and explosive player and is a sideline to sideline safety. His run support is strong all though his is only 5 foot 9 he is over 200 pounds and put together like a rock. He is an athlete and a above average football player.

He won't add what you are hoping at CB, he was always on the roster bubble until he was moved to safety. He is not amazing, but a solid starter and a steal for just a 5th.

The Hawks are looking for a safety that is solid at reading the run and stopping it and one that is solid in covering the slot receivers. Also one that is intelligent and makes his reads well. Diggs is solid in all these area's and now the Hawks have 5 CB/S they can put on the field and we can say goodbye to running the base 4-3 50%+ of the time with Linebackers covering WR/TE and Running backs all the time. Diggs keeps his eyes and tracks well, Let me say this he would have stopped Jackson last game on some of his longer runs i have no doubt about that.

Yep... We're going to move towards a nickel instead of our normal 4-3 base defense... This is the best decision at this point... We need more speed in the field instead of relying on our LB's to cover such a big area... We've been picked apart via the pass in the soft zone behind our LB's... We were very successful last season with Coleman and haven't been the same since... I love this acquisition...

Just in time, too. I was expecting Matty Ice to slice us and dice us for 400 yards. Maybe now we hold him to 275.

Given the injuries we've suffered at safety and the poor play from Jamar Taylor at nickel, I like that we've added a versatile piece that can play both safety and nickel.

With the way our DBs have played "a solid starter" who is only 26 seems like a nice addition. Doesn't seem too crippling for you guys since it sounds like ya'll have a lot of depth there.

I initially thought you guys overpaid for Justin Coleman but right now it's looking like a nice investment. Would kill to have him back.

Based on player reactions to the trade, Slay will be available soon as well.

I think one of the reasons I like the trade is that Diggs seems like a fan favorite and great in the locker room. After trading for Diggs and Clowney I'd be surprised if the Seahawks make another major trade considering how much they love their draft picks.

Sorry to hear that you guys are selling. That always sucks. Not relevant from a Seahawks perspective, but do you think the Lions will move Snacks? Great player and you guys landed him for pennies.
