I guess i should save it for the yelp review but just an ot on pavel barber. He has got a great thing going. I know a guy who paid for his son to do a private skills training session with barber. He had the kid work on flipping the puck in the air and catching it with the other side of the blade for 30 minutes. Like shit the kid could do in his driveway at home

All the while barber was on his phone posting stuff to his personal instagram lol. More power to him though :thumb:

I remember booting it right over to Stamford Twin Rinks one day after work to get my skates sharpened for a late game before the pro shop closed and seeing two kids on the ice with one instructor giving private lessons and their pretty hedge fund moms barely even watching. I would guess that the standing around and talking time was about 2/3rds of it and I thought "fuck, this would be an easy way to make side money if I didn't have scruples".

I've been playing hockey for close to 40 years, and I still can't pick up the puck with my stick. Maybe I need to hire that guy!
Had an opponent in beer league try it while I was defending (a 1 on 1, stupid play to attempt because there no real advantage even if it works), so I fucking hammered him. He went low to scoop up, so I hit high. Best 2 minutes I ever spent.
But I do want to score a Mike Legg goal at one point in my life

Kids have evolved lol. Theres a kid on my sons team who has done the mike legg in practice ... they all work on it ... without their dad paying a guy to just stand around with his face down in his phone :noidea:

Yeah, the group I skate with now sometimes bring out their young teenagers. Ridiculous hands, all of them.
They need someone like me to teach them the dirty tricks. Maybe I can start up a school for that

I should add though ... dont ask any of the kids on my sons team to successfully pass to each other ... a bit much to ask :L

In practice the other day a younger kid (freshman) tried the between the legs shot that Sonny Milano did the other day.

My son poke checked it and wound up tripping the kid hard. went down in a heap. I saw him skate by and say something and my son just shrugged.

Apparently my boy's response to the jawing was "play stupid games, win stupid prizes"

In yesterdays game, my son tried to dig out a loose puck that the goalie had and the opposing d man (man = 11 year old) came in and said to him “square up bitch” :pound:
