I thought it was scary as hell but definitely a pause in the action.

As far as Neegan goes, I don't trust him still. He's got this great twinkle in his eyes in those moments he realizes he could revert to the old Neegan real easy.

But he's been there like 10+ years and I think he may realize these are the best people around to live with. Plus I think he really likes Ricks daughter.

So Carol was in and out the whole show. I never knew what was real and what wasn’t. I’m assuming the dead whisperers at end was real though. How were they killed?

Only one Whisper that was in the school was killed the others Carol was seeing things that wern't there

So there was a Whisperer in the school?? Not sure if she was dead or not , but Alpha will want more than land if she finds out

Yes, Carol somehow shot it and I guess somehow wondered off and died outside and then became a walker at the end.

I thought the meeting at the northern border should have had much more tension.

It seems like they are forcing a lot.
And what I mean by that is they know how the season is going to end and they have to write scenes to get us there in a plausible fashion. I'm not thrilled with the Carol angle.

The show is at its best with the action and ratcheted up tension when groups of humans meet.
Very Game of Thrones-ish, if you will.
And when the writers decided to end GoT, we got Season 7, which is generally agreed upon to be terrible writing.

TWD has a similar feel in that they know certain characters are going away, they know how they want to move on and they just have to get there.

They are trying to create tension between Eugene/Rosita, Aaron/Negan, Carol/guilt, and Sadiq/PTSD.

We know that the Whisperers are 'always' watching.
They need to create tension by using a decoy group to occupy the eyes of the Whisperers, while another group dresses like the Whisperers and tries to infiltrate. That would ratchet up the tension as you may not know who is who.

And I'm pretty sure Negan will save the day by sacrificing himself to at least help Judith.
