I ordered two new Habs jerseys. The #21 Nate Thompson jersey came in today. Fits and looks great!

The Stumptown one should be here Tuesday. My way of combining my new favorite show with my favorite NHL team!

Who here uses NHL.TV?

I have been a center ice customer for a long time but am about to cut the cord. Just wondering what it's like, how good is it? HD picture? Any streaming issues?

Are games blacked out?

I think this is my third year using it.

Quality of your home internet definitely makes a difference. Whatever compression method it uses is nowhere near as good as some other services like Netflix. Which is to say that the quality breaks down much more easily than on Netflix, so it's clearly not buffering as well (to be fair, I'm sure Netflix' backbone is much higher quality than NHL's).

I upgraded my router last year to a Netgear Nighthawk AC1750 (from an 8-ish year old router) and it made a big difference. Quality is perfect now on a 2018 Roku Ultra on the 5Ghz network channel.

As for blackouts, most NBCSN games are blacked out and games in your local market are also blacked out. It's not great once the POs come around since the NBC family carries all PO games, but it's good for the regular season.

Thanks.

Sucks that they black out local games, since that is the main loss to me when cutting the cord. But it turns out that my local Internet provider offers a bundle that is like 20 bucks more a month that gives me NBCSN and local Fox Sports when I upgrade to gigabit internet. I might just have to go that way.

Yeah, might be better. I'm technically in the Hurricanes market (even though I'm 170 miles away), but I'm a subscriber mostly for watching Sabres games, so I only miss out on 3-4 a year.

Son had his first on ice warmup before tryouts in the next few weeks.

45 kids showed up. 16 are girls. Including all three of the other goalies. Last season, there were 4 girls on the team, and both other goalies were (the goalies graduated). This year, looking at who was out there there are at least 7 skaters who stand a better than average chance of making it. And one of the other goalies is ready.

The boy is really gonna have to learn to talk to girls some time.

That sounds like the kind of attitude that leads to cooties

Not to nitpick, but I would substitute Wile E. Coyote in for Yosemite Sam.

The one on the right looked injured, or at least stunned.
