And I'm not saying they're going to be fine. But 2-2-1 with that travel schedule, is not a bad outcome through 5 games. The Calgary game was ugly. The inability to finish last night was mind-blowingly aggravating. But the process is there, as shown by Sparhawk's post. And if it's there with the schedule they've had, that gives me enough hope to wait a few more games to see what this team is under normal scheduling.

The key to me, and I think AV sees it this way too, is that they don't get too down on themselves after a pretty poor road trip based on the results. In his post game last night, AV basically said he had no issues with the game they played, just got a little unlucky. If they keep playing like that they'll be fine. And I agree. They just need to keep playing like they did in the first 30 minutes and not completely collapse when they get frustrated, like they did at the end of the 2nd.

2-2-1 is exactly what we should be. We beat two scrub teams and lost to two good teams and took a point off of a mediocre team. Unfortunately that's going to be our fate all year long barring injuries than we should expect worse.

OK boys heading to Florida tonight. Gotta miss the next two games so hopefully we will be 4 points closer when i get back.

Side note: Last time i was in Fla and missed a game JVR had a hat trick.

In case you missed the news AMAC is gone i have no idea why you keep bringing his name up.

Braun with another solid game with a minus 2 and a total of minus 5 for this young season

That's who Braun replaced so of course I'm going to compare the two. Gudas was traded for niskanen so makes sense to me to compare them. Now you can say one of the youngsters would be in Brauns role but I'm pretty confident things would be worse as those guys are still learning.

I'm not worried at all. It's a few losses to western conference teams that are a combined 9-0-1 so far on home ice after we've traveled to Prague and back, then all the way to western Canada. We beat the Devils 4-0 in the only rivalry (or even against our own conference) game to date. We all know those are the games that are going to matter at the end of the day, not these ones. Besides, this is just five games into a whole new coaching staff and system...Lol

That and I'm back bitches. Be prepared to deal with my optimism!! :D:suds::heh:

Lolol

Nothing like losing 4-1 at home to a team that was 1-7.

This team is still a dumpster fire

It's completely bizarre may as well only try for 10-15 shots and that's how you win 40-50 means nothing... they simply get into these zones where they can't score. Different players same result. Makes no sense. Niskanen had a brutal game but if you can't score more than one on Dallas then you may as well pack it up. Maybe time to bring up Frost and Farabee see if they can do something.

Well when 95% of those shots come from the outside it's a goalies dream. Wish our pussy Dmen could actually play hard and not like pussies, should have traded Provy for a real Dman. Dude is extremely over rated just like puke ass Ghost. Really he doesn't Ghosttobehere.

That "game" was a joke. 90% of the Flyers play was to the outside.
Getting more and more tired of the excuses and the wait and see. If something doesn't happen soon this is just going to be another lost season.

Ghost has been horrible no doubt they were in it but couldn't score last night. It was more on the offense IMO same in Calgary. Score a bit more and those games were winable. Makes me spit blood when I see that...

They're playing harder for more minutes than we saw last year. still have the issue that one or two players shit the bed every night that costs us goals against. Vegas had us as borderline team that could go either way. Some of the guys are being exposed more so now than in past seasons because the good players are playing well.

We'll see where we are in december - AV said there will be a lot of churn until then

Funny thing is this team made some good strides at the end of last season under Gordon. Enter AV, Hayes, Niskanen, and a few other pieces and it's not working for some reason. I want to see new blood and let's do this, everyone kept saying it was too early for Hart, BS. Frost and Farabee be better to waste ice time on than our current fourth liners.

Yes you can't score when most of your shots are just coming the top of the crease. No front net presence, Dallas had an easy game.

We held a huge territorial edge in and largely dominated this last game, a 1-4 loss...Lol

And so, I am not worried.

Once our bigger and stronger players realize where their bread is buttered, they will start finding the back of the net much more frequently and this could turn for the best very quickly.

If it wasn't already obvious, this includes guys like JvR, Hayes, Voracek, Couturier and hopefully Patrick in the not so distant future.

Maybe it will simply take some more time due to the changeover. Although I wouldn't mind seeing one of the younger guys get a shot. Find out what you have....

That will bring some extra fun for tonight.
