2019 Titans Season Thread

Felt like we could use a new thread here so how about an all encompassing season thread.

Draft started tonight.

Titans 1st round pick: Jeffery Simmons, DT out of Miss St

Most have him graded as a top 10 talent but he slipped because of a very ugly assault arrest from high school and he tore his ACL in February. Reading up on his arrest, it actually doesn't bother me all that much. It's complicated (he beat on a woman who was fighting his sister and mom) but the kid seems to be remorseful. I'm more concerned about the ACL. I don't like the idea of drafting injured players, especially with your 1st round pick. Most are saying there's a good chance he doesn't even play this year. This team has a lot of needs. I wouldn't waste something as valuable as a 1st round pick on a guy who A) won't play in year 1 and B)There's no guarantee he's right after the injury

Next pick is at 51 overall. I'm hoping we go pass catcher to pair with Corey Davis. There's tons of good ones still left on the board. Would love to see Irv Smith drop but I doubt he slips that far

2nd Round: AJ Brown, WR from Ole Miss.

Like the pick though I was so bummed when the guy I wanted, Irv Smith, went one spot before our pick. Seen Brown compared to Jarvis Landry a few times. This should be a good pairing with Corey Davis

3rd Round: Nate Davis, G from Charlotte

Filling a need here by getting some inside blocking. OL was AWFUL last season.

So far, it looks like we're doing a pretty decent job grabbing good players in spots of need.

I’m happy with the draft overall.

Simmons missing so much time is obviously not ideal. But he’s a stud.

This team isn’t winning much this year with MM at qb anyway.

Its up to him. This should be the best team since the one that somehow lost to the ravens despite outgaining them 3-1 in 2000-2001

I don't know about that but they'd for sure be a comfortable playoff team. Like it wouldn't be a "Will this team be a wildcard" or "The AFC South is a toss up" question. It'd be "Can anyone challenge the Titans in the AFC South?"

not saying they'd be the favorite, but they'd be a team with a path to the SB.

Good lord Mariota is trash. Why the fuck are they not putting in Tannehill at this point? I'm pretty sure Mariota has missed wide open TD throws multiple times (one for sure to Walker)

Seriously, as a RAIDER fan living in mid TN, every time I feel down about how bad we are I remember the Titans..

Wasn't as great in the 2nd half but they switched up to killing all the time with constant running calls (almost let the Falcons get back in the game with a dumb 4th down call though). Still, why the hell can't they play that way every week? The ball was moving all over the field to many receivers and the offense had variation in the play calls.
