So the other 4 players on the ice were what ???? Somehow only one player the ice was within 30 feet of where they should be; and it’s all his fault ? Your blind rage is embarrassing.
Your lack of knowledge on what position you should go to on a face off is embarrassing.

Please educate us on how Stewart helps, or alternatively hurts this team.

I did appreciate the explanation on not wanting Farabee on the 4th line. That made sense
I personally like him as he is a rough and tumble player that we could use every once in a while but in reality he is a dinosaur in hockey these days and would probably hurt us more than help us.

I love that our shots are coming from in close. More goals are scored in the dirty areas than shots from the point which was what we have been doing for years.

It's like a 180 from Hakstol.

Last year we took lots of shots, but they weren't the best of quality.

This is somewhat similar to soccer analytics in that possession can dominate games and it's better to forego long shots to get closer shots, even if that means they have a higher chance to get blocked. Something else that reminds me of soccer is the high pressing, counter-pressing, or gegenpressing.

Differences between Sacchi's, Klopp's and Guardiola's Counterpressing Concepts

These are concepts utilized by some of the best coaches in the game with some of the best players on those teams.
This concept is seen in OT hockey with 3v3, where teams are more than willing to rag the puck to control the flow of play. Miss your chance and it's usually a good opportunity going the other way.

Assuming he's 4th Line... he would be in for one of Raffl- or -Pitlick ? I am a Raffl fan, have no opinion yet on Pitlick

Not sticking up for Hakstol but if these three coaches (Therrien Yeo and Vigs) with 2100 plus games of coaching experience cant out coach Hakstol we have real problems.

I love Raffl and Piltlik is playing ok for us but if we actually sign Stewart to a contract and pay him i think he will be in the press box watching. If we have a few injuries he may gest in or if we play a team who has a player that takes cheap shots.

It feels like we've been on the road all season but after tonight we will have played 2 home games and 2 road games.

My thing with Stewart, is what's the point? Sure, might bring some grit, some size, some energy. Pitlick already brings that though? And he's already signed and taking up cap space. Raffl brings more than both of them, he's significantly better than them offensively and defensively. Laughton is a clear upgrade in all facets. (Looking at the ideal 4th line group)

And if you have an injury in the top 9, Stewart isn't coming out of the press box to fill that void. Twarynski is already filling that void with Patrick out. And they have plenty of better options to fill in down in LV, particularly in the top 9. Farabee, Frost, Vorobyov, Aube-Kubel. Any of those guys.

So then you're looking at Stewart as insurance in case a 4th liner gets hurt. Aube-Kubel can fill that role. Or Andreoff, or Gabriel. So I don't really see what adding Stewart does for you.

Even if he spends the season in the pressbox and doesn't hurt you on the ice because he can't keep up, even in an injury situation the Flyers already have guys that can fill those roles. You're just wasting cap space if you sign Stewart. I'm fine keeping him on PTO all season. Let him practice and be around the guys to bring that 'veteran, good guy' presence if you think it's needed still (i'd argue it's not). Don't waste cap space on him though.

What should we do when Patrick is ready to come back?

He goes to 3C, Laughton to 4C, Bunnaman to the press box (or Phantoms).

At least, that's what I would do based on play so far. You have to figure Bunnaman and Twarynski are the 'bubble' guys and Twarysnki has clearly outplayed Bunnaman.
