Boy that game got intense. Great job by Flaherty. It's nice to have that 4 game cushion on the Cubs. They are on the outside looking in. This is far from over though. I hope this playoff atmosphere get Goldy fired up. A couple doubles last night was nice to see.

Now my pessimism. Wacha is pitching today.

Didn't you read the rule book? It clearly states that Cardinals fans are not allowed to be pessimistic!

Of course we want to win them all but I'll be okay if we go 2-2 at Wrigley if the Brewers lose just once to the Pirates because we will still have a cushion going into the last week of the season.

Since you have a problem watching our Cardinals on TV or on your computer often mark this on your calendar right now: Next Wednesday, September 25th, you can watch the Cardinals at the Diamondbacks live on youtube.com/mlb with no sign up, no nothing, just tune in at game time.

SIX......What an ugly game.

Our Cardinals have now hit their high water mark of the season at 20 games over .500 and we have won twice in a row in a place we haven't won all season until now.

I've got to respectfully disagree with you on today's game being an ugly game because we stood tall to get the job done when it mattered and a win is a win.

I'm getting ready to watch the Bucos at Milky on my computer and oh yes, I'm wearing black and gold tonight!

The Brewers are the hottest team in baseball right now.

Woo hoo!
At least a split with the Cubs in this series.
I still think the Brewers win the division, but the Cards at least get a wild card spot.

I still think STL wins the division. Although the Pirates and their sinking ship are thowing a 9.00 ERA guy today vs the Brewers, the Reds and Rockies are still trying to win. Milwaukee is on the road for those two series.

I agree! I remain confident that the Cardinals will win this division. The Pirates can't beat a Triple A team right now and like you said the Brewers have got to hit the road next week and the clock is ticking.

If we had a 1 or 2 game lead right now I might agree with you but with a 3 game lead I remain confident that we can cross the finish line first.

Many people thought that when the Cubs signed Kimbrel, including my buddy Myles, they would run away with the NL Central.

WRONG! After getting torched by Carpenter on Thursday night he got torched in back to back home runs today by Molina and DeJong in the top of the 9th. He is now 0-4 with an ERA of 6.86 and the Cardinals are now 21 games over .500 . . . . . That's what I'm talking about!

Any guesses on when Maddon will be fired?

A buddy of mine thinks he could go to San Fran. I feel this is it for him in Chicago. I even heard that Theo might high tail it out of town, also.

Maddon was on the hot seat even before the season started and with the Cubs almost mathematically eliminated I feel sure he will be turning in his keys soon. I really haven't kept up with what Theo's fate might be. Your buddy might be right on the SF job but Maddon looks very tired to me.
