What's Everyone's Opinions on Gears 5?

Honest opinions? Just took advantage of this gamepass deal and downloaded it and playing it after work. Heard the escape mode was a pretty decent mode.

I was never a fan of the prior gears. I saw it streamed a bit, and it looked the same to me.

The prime of the Gears franchise was Gears 2. It all went to shit after that. I’ll probably still get Gears 5 whenever they reduce the price.

I mean I beat Gears 4 campaign in like 4 hours. Gears 2 I played the shit out of multiplayer. Those were the days.

Gears 5 certainly isn't Gears 2 or even Gears 4. But I do like it. Gameplay is nice and smooth, the campaign is short, probably 6 hours total. But Horde and Escape are pretty decent modes. I wouldn't buy it for full price, but I'd still buy it eventually had I not had it downloaded via game pass.

Really? Even with the new "open" world concept (its not fully open world, but more explorable than any of the older games). Definitely buying this on a discount if its that damn short. Might even just Redbox it instead

That's what it took me to beat the campaign. I certainly didn't explore everything but from what I've played, there's not THAT much more to explore.

Man I thought Gears 2 even sucked. 1 had a great co-op campaign and the online was funny as hell with all the glitches you could do. Multiplayer had cool weapons and shit but 90% of games ended with two dudes in a 10 foot circle blasting shotguns until somebody just randomly blew up.

Whelp, looks like it hasn't changed much. This was basically the Gears 1 multiplayer experience.

I've been playing since Gears 1, but I only play multiplayer. This game moves much smoother than the previous, but it still feels like Gears.

I give it a thumbs up
