Don't need to. The 40 man is still at 39. It seems FZ has made every move, up to now, with Cueto being activated in mind.

Giants claimed Ricardo Pinto off waivers from the Rays and placed Trevor Gott on the 60 day IL.

If this is how FZ uses September, I'm okay with reducing rosters down to 28 next year. I like seeing guys within the org getting promoted as a reward for good play or check out prospects (i.e. Rogers and Davis), not claiming a bunch of guys off waivers to see what will stick to the wall.

I saw Sam Selman pitch in today's game so I looked to see if anyone got recalled beside him today. I found out that he was recalled two days ago. No other transactions, other than Peralta being officially activated, today.

Edit: I did find out that Ricardo Pinto was optioned to Sacramento on the 6th.

A bit surprised that they didn't just shut Tony Watson down for the year. What's the point in trying to keep him active? Let him rest. As for Jerez, he had a nice WHIP and K rate in AAA. I thought he'd be coming up after AAA playoffs are over.
Maybe FZ has another waiver claim coming up. I wonder if he can claim players he recently dfas?

the club has designated infielder Corban Joseph for assignment. Taking his spot on the 40-man roster will be Cristhian Adames, who had his contract selected. He’ll be joined on the Major League roster by Mike Gerber, who was also promoted.

Adames is 28 or 29, I think. He did really well in the PCL playoffs for the Rivercats.
