It’s not even the fact that he melted down.

He gave up like 10 fucking hits to the fucking Tigers

We will see just what this team is made of tonight! 73 year old journeyman Edwin Jackson pitches for the Tigers tonight, he has a very Kyle Gibson like WHIP and has allowed 15 home runs in 44 innings. If they come out and put 10+ on the board we will be okay, if they come out and lay an egg this team is gonna run straight into the dumpster!

Oh and...

Does anyone still think we shouldn't have went and got some real pitching prior to the deadline??

WTF? Where were the upbeat twins on this game?

Serious question, who starts game one vs the Yanks? Not Gibson, he will allow 12 base runners in 3+ innings, Berrios? The obvious answer but I get a feeling he might be a bit intimidated so who? Odorizzi? Game one is the most important game of the year by far, lose and we are swept, win and hey maybe we got a chance!!

Not Odorizzi.

We will see the bullpen by the 2nd inning.

Think it’ll have to be Berrios and pray. At least the Yanks haven’t faced him yet

The reason the Yanks have owned us for more than a decade is because we have always been intimidated, we have always looked like we didn't think we could win, I see that in Berrios as well...

Odorizzi has that as well. Guy is a headcsse too

Realistically we are screwed. Our rotation, bullpen and defense all suck. Not a good recipe

No matter who starts it would likely be the bullpen by the 2nd inning. The only thing going for us is that the Yankees' rotation is about equally garbage, so we could be looking at a series of 14-10 sorts of games.

That's the truth of it brother. I remember some 15 years back, Nathan coming into the firsy play off game with a 1 run lead in the ninth, and the look on his face was total terror. I saw it in his eyes. I knew before he threw that first pitch that the game was lost. He ended up blowing the save and we did lose.

I don't point that out to knock Joe Nathan. I loved Joe. He was the greatest closer this team has ever had. Take away Mario and Joe is the closer of the decade back then. I point it out because that is exactly the effect the Yankees have on this team. And it has been that was for 15 years. I, for one, am sick of it. So many late inning losses. The Yankees know it. They don't fear us. They know all they need to do is hang around and the Twins will make sure they can steal the game. It matters not how big of a lead we build. We will not win.

I'm hesitating to praise Perez. Looks good. Has a few times lately. He would have at least 10 wins right now if not for this shit bull pen we have been laden with.
