Stanley will not be a first round pick and he will need to improve quite a bit to get drafted in the 1st 3 rounds.
He completely roughly 35% of his passes when he faced any type of pressure and only 25% of his passes that travelled 20 or more yards.
That isn’t going to get you drafted in the first round.
He is a solid college QB, but 1st round draft pick he is not.

I think the reason Cook got shit is because it was already reported that he was troublesome in the lockerroom. This just added to those rumors.
I don't want to look it up, but I think Henne was never elected captain either and he was a 4 year starter.

Believe it or not, it'll be an upgrade. Illinois ran the ball pretty well last year. It'll be up to their defense to improve, but I still see them as bottom in the B1GW

Pretty much everyone has Stanley in the top 5 of draft eligible QBs which makes him a near lock for top 3 rounds so after that it really just depends on team boards . If I'd told you last year Daniel Jones would go 6 overall everyone would've called me crazy . The NFL values tangibles and Stanley has them in spades

I'm not saying Stanley isn't draftable in first 3 rounds. I would just tamp brakes on using Mcshay as a source for him being in 1st round.
Good senior year, he may end up in 1st round, but color me skeptical.

I didn't use McShay. Someone else did . You can never use just one guy . It's really just a function of everyone having him 3rd-5th amongst QBs. If that holds he will be first or early second . It isn't even commentary on if I think he's good lol

Yes, if he remains on scouts (not bloggers) top 3-5 QB's he'll be drafted in first 2 rounds most likely. But we're awfully early and a lot will change.
Teddy Bridgetwater was at one time 1st overall pick by a lot of predictons/mocks, few months later Vikings drafted him #32 and lot of internet scouts scoffed that they reached
I agree with your overall take no way Iowa goes 5-7 unless they get the injury bug
I think B1GW will be a lot of fun this year

Off the top of my head I can think of 4 QBs I’m higher on that are draft eligible. Hurts, Fromm, Tua, and Shea Patterson (and I’m not very high on Patterson.). That’s without doing any deep dive on QBs.
