Feel bad for Boogie. Not sure what he did to piss off the basketball gods, but they're apparently not done fucking with him yet.

And the first shoe has dropped. There are not very many options to fill the roster spot. Some are speculating that Nerleans Noel will get released in the preseason but that's a lot of ifs. We shall see who the Lakers decide on as Boogie is done for the season.

Faried would be a good pickup. He's only 29 too.

Joakim Noah looked pretty good with the Grizzlies last season. But he only played 42 games and he's 34 with all of those Thibs miles on him. Can he play well for a full season and playoffs? He's been one of my favorite non-Lakers since he was with the Bulls. I just don't think he has enough left to give them what they need for a full season.

Nerlens Noel would be interesting. His stats are pretty pedestrian, but his per 36 is 12 points, 12 rebounds which would be helpful. He's only 25, so maybe he can still develop into something?

Yea, the ACL tear is being kept fairly under raps by the Lakers. Cousins may return to the Lakers at the latter part of this upcoming season because he is in really good shape for a change. However, if this continues, he is rapidly becoming another Andrew Bynum sans the habitual consumption of weed and maybe blow.

So, it's being reported that there is apparent "mutual interest" between the Lakers and Dwightmare.

I'm honestly not sure what I think of this.

Putting aside my dislike for him and how he conducted himself when he was a Laker...

In his last full season (2017-18), he played 81 games, averaged 16.6 points and 12.5 rebounds on 30 minutes of playing time. The Lakers could use that production.

On the other hand, he only played 9 games last season due to back surgery and a hamstring issue.

If he is healthy, Lebron can keep him in line and he can handle what is sure to be a less than warm welcome from Lakers fans...it could work. If he provides quality minutes, fans will eventually come around and cheer for him.

But if he can't stay healthy, or is too sensitive when fans boo him...it'll be a failure.

A big part of the problem is that there just isn't a lot out there to choose from at this point.

This is a desperation move. The Lakers should start looking for a center in the G league or wherever their scouts can find a reasonable replacement for Cousins. If Noel becomes available, snatch him right up.

Dwightmare has done ZERO wherever he has gone and the Lakers would be living in an altered reality of they think this guy is going to do anything positive for playing a few minutes off the bench!!

Kenneth Faried would be a way better replacement than Dwightmare.
I agree. I don't want anyone who middle fingered the Lakers in the past and set this franchise back for years. Just like that pg we gave a first round pick for and only played 3 months with us. I forgot his name.

Here's the thing with Dwight...

While I tend to agree that I don't want a guy who conducted himself the way he did with the Lakers...assuming he's healthy, he can still play.

From reports, it seems that he may have learned his lesson. Apparently, he even acknowledged that Kobe was right when he called Dwight soft.

If that is true and he's healthy, he could be a good pickup just for his rebounding and defense alone.

Dwight's 33, so he's closer to the end of his career than the beginning. Sometimes guys who are down to their last shot, realize it and act accordingly.

I like Faried, but I worry that he may be washed.

Another interesting possibility (although probably remote) is Tristan Thompson.

Apparently, the Cavs can save some money by buying him out (which would make him a free agent that the Lakers could get for the vet min.).

Imo, he would be perfect. He can get a double double with no plays called for him and he's a solid perimeter defender. Plus, he knows how to play with Lebron. I seriously doubt this happens, but it would be great for the Lakers if it did.

Considering the choices (or lack thereof), my preference in order would be:

1. Tristan Thompson
2. Healthy Dwightmare
3. Faried

He did not learn his lesson. He is just desperate to join a winner. Like Eddy said in BH Cop, Don't fall for the banana in the tailpipe.

Faried is washed at 29? Once the Nets let him go (they weren't using him), he played pretty well for the Rockets last year 12.9/8.2 in 24 mpg.

I sincerely doubt that the Cavs would waive TT to help Lebron. They will try to trade him for assets to a playoff team closer to the trade deadline. Besides, if we're talking about distractions (re Dwight), we need to keep the Kardashian exposure to a minimum.

That's what's been said about Faried. I like him. But look at his games played since 2014-15.

In 2014-15 he played in 75 games.

Since then? 67, 61, 32 and 37. That's a lot of missed games for a guy who's only 29.

I agree re: TT. The only way the Cavs buy him out is if they can negotiate a buyout low enough that the money they save is worth more than any assets they could get for TT (which I don't see happening).

If we are going to stoop to the level of Dwightmare, then at least give Joaquin Noah a try. He still can rumble with the best of them and his three isn't all that bad.

I love Joakim Noah. Been a fan since he was with the Bulls. But I think he's done. He did fairly well last year. But he played in very few games. I just don't think he has enough left to last a whole season.

Dwight only played 9 games last year before he had surgery. But he played in 80 the season before and averaged 17 and 12.

Yea, TJF12. The Lakers are obviously scraping the last crumbs available. They found people like Bonga, whom they traded. I am sure they should go with another "find" and forget this retreading-Centers-whose-careers-are-done waste of time. They may even get lucky and pick-up Noel if he goes the way most people believe he will go with OKC.

Noel is the better choice. I would wait.
