Fuck them both. Disrespect is telling the guy that trashed his own name to defend you that you aren't going to work for millions like you agreed.

Jerry has been saying these little jokes this year. Not sure why he has changed tactics, but the little jabs have been made at Zeke and Dak.

Oh God... here comes the race lawsuits (because this is obvious racism and a rich white guy putting down a black player) unless Jerry ponies up $16M+ to Elliott... I'm sure Kaepernick has been texting/calling every 5 minutes.

Poor Elliot found this comment to be disrespectful. I'll tell you what's disrespectful; disrespectful is not honoring your contract.

Seriously! I've heard rumors that Le'Veon Bell is already holding out for a new contract from New York. No articles yet, but should be up soon!

That’s fine you feel that way... just as long as you say the same thing when owners let players go out of their contract.

Don’t know what the joke is. I rarely knock Dallas and I’ve all ready said they are a SB threat this year. Tell me when I ever criticized Dallas outside of thinking there could be a problem with Zeke’s current lawsuit.

Its not the same. The NFL contract stipulates that a player can be cut and he knows this before he signs it. There is nothing in Elliott's or any other players contract with language indicating that he can hold out and does not have to honor the contract he signed.
Now if he has a clause in his contract that states that he cannot be cut then I'm absolutely positive the owner would be forced to pay him.
A better argument to me would be that since the player feels that he has out-performed the expectations of his contract and thus he has the right to not honor it then why can't the owner say, "well; you didn't live up to expectations so we are going to keep you off the team until you sign a contract that we feel you are worth"?

Maybe cause it causes problems with players who find it disrespectful???
Fuck the player. he's an employee, nothing more. he does what he's told and what he has contractually agreed to.

It's disrespectful to not not honor a contract you signed too.

I don't believe players fully guarantee their contracts. Owners can cut a player any time they want so players should be able to quit any time they want too. They only have to play 6 games to accrue a season.

No I am not a fan of holdouts but I understand the players point of view as well.

Jerrah is about 116 years old....he actually forgot who Zeke was and then promptly and noisily crapped his pants in very liquid fashion

Zeke and every player is indeed welcome to quit any time they want. He will need to pay back a portion of his signing bonus, but he can retire tomorrow and never play again and no one can force him to do any differently. But, he has a legally binding contract that says he pays or he doesn't get paid.

Never understood how some can see the team as the bad guy in these situations. I hate oiling the squeaky wheel. Take care of people who do things the right way. If you don't like the CBA and the rules in it, then change it, but you need to give to get. For instance the % of revenues put towards the cap cap would be lower in past CBAs if players wanted guaranteed contracts. They wanted the cap to go up. The cap would be higher if players agreed to the level of drug testing the owners wanted. The cap would be lower if no drug testing ever and of any kind was included in the CBA. If players agree to 18 games the cap will go up more than it otherwise would in the future. It's all related. That's what bargaining is.

Good for Jerry.

Elliott, although talented, has benefitted greatly from a pretty solid offensive line. He and the Union negotiated these rookie deals. Now it's ok to say Fuck it I want more or I am not playing?

How that work out for Bell? I don't see a lot of movement on Gordon either.

I actually am rooting for Pollard just because it slaps the dumb ass stance of Ellott down.
