Was that movie any good?

As with all Will Ferrill movies you have to be in the right mood but I loved it. I mean a player gets traded for a washing machine. I was alive in that era so I found it funny as hell.

Played in high school. I'm not good, but I went to a small school. Used to play pick up games in the summer, but I haven't played since I tore my ACL 2 summers ago. I was thinking about getting back to it this year, but I might push that back to next.

First time on the court will be a little nerve-racking.

I played a couple of seasons of pro ball. Team called the Washington Generals, maybe you've heard of em. God we sucked.

No I’m about 6’1 and shrinking

You said you played against the best HS team of all time.

Muggsy Bogues' Dunbar team.

Which team are you talking about?

1990-91 Proviso East Chicago public league

Michael Finley — 1st round pick
Donnie Boyce — 2nd round pick
Sherell Ford — 1st rounder

All about 6’6-6’8 in high school
Looked about 30 years old with Afros and goatees
Could shoot it and doing tomahawks, windmills, etc

They were ice cold. I believe all ended up their college’s all time leading scorer

Very cool SJ.

I liked Finley.

Obviously, the 'best high school team' has different meaning now with guys moving from Canada to West Virginia and Florida prep schools to play.

But back then, if you had multiple NBA players from a team it was ridiculous.

Couldn't play for school teams in Junior High or HS because of Osgood Schlatters disease, but could play pickup.

No further than good intramural teams at OSU.

still playing once a week at age 49. always been a good shooter and passer. Never much of a dribbler/ball handler.

Played varsity my last 2 years in high school. I was the back up power forward, but played more minutes than the starter. For some reason that neither the coach or I could figure out...I played much better coming off the bench than I did starting.

I'm still friends with the guy who was the starter and we both still laugh about it today.

Played in rec leagues for years and used to play in a summer tournament in Vegas for a few years too.

Played thru HS. Could shoot it well but if I had to take more than 5 dribbles, I was in trouble. So basically I just ran around screens the entire time I was out there

Hey, sounds like me!

You know I am going to try to find one better.

Another team that was pretty good was Chicago Farragut around 94-95. Kevin Garnett was on that team with Michael Wright that went to AZ and played for the Knicks but the dude that wowed me was Ronnie Fields. About 6’3 or so and his vertical was insane. Had NBA written all over him and I believe he got shot at some point his senior year.

Saw them play once and the tip went to Garnett, guard got the ball and threw it from half court to Fields a bit high and he went up and got it for a nasty dunk to start the game.

They were not Proviso east nasty but they were nasty. Always wondered how good Fields would have been tho.

See a few posts above. Think one of guards ended up at Georgetown. But that team was scary. Like you’re gonna get mugged and beat by 30 scary

Should have kept reading.

That is sick.

That Dunbar team though:

Muggsy, Reggie Lewis, Reggie Williams, David Wingate and like 5 high level college players who were role guys.

And the best Oak Hill team was insane too:

Stackhouse, Jeff Mcginnis, Mark Blount, Mahhtar Ndiaye, Curtis Staples +++
