What They Had.....a very poignant movie about a family member with dementia. Living with a father-in-law going through the earlier stages, this monie is very realistc.

4/5

Knock Knock. Holy fuck those chicks are crazy. 4.5/10. Some disturbing shit in this with Bell (Ana de Armas) the hot blonde.

A devoted father helps two stranded young women who knock on his door, but his kind gesture turns into a dangerous seduction and a deadly game of cat and mouse.

This is a fucking HORRIBLE movie. The only one I felt bad for by the end of it was me.

Secret Life of Pets 2 - Not going to lie... I fell asleep about 30-45 minutes in. Nothing to complain about though.

The Autopsy of Jane Doe (Netflix) - 3.5/10. For there only being roughly 6 actors in the movie and the whole movie primarily taking place in one spot.... it is what it is. The story, I thought was stupid and overly complex and I only say that because it never really ties together - so if the plan was to leave it open for interpretation, it just didn't work. Stars Brian Cox and Emile Hirsch, not bad acting, but again, not much to work with. They had to simply bounce material off of each other.

The Man Who Killed Hitler and then the Bigfoot - 5/10. I love Sam Elliot and I love the simplistic nature of this film and parts of it have pretty beautiful cinematography. However, it is pretty slow and it honestly feels like 30-45 minutes of this film are completely unnecessary. Bigfoot doesn't make any sense to the lore, but I also think that was the purpose. I don't recall his name, but the guy that played Sam Elliots brother in the movie was TERRIBLE. I am sorry, but he is not a good actor any more (not sure if he ever was), the only thing I even remember him in is 10 Things I Hate About You as the two girls father. This should have been a short film about 30 minutes long.

Has anyone seen The Professor and the Madman?

Story doesn't seem like one that I would really care about even though it is based on a true story, but Mel Gibson is the fucking man lol.

even though it isn't an action movie

Murder Mystery. Netflix film with Adam Sandler and Jen Aniston. Solid, not great, not horrible. Had some funny parts. 6/10

Yesterday. If you've seen the trailers you've basically seen the movie. A solar flare somehow eliminates The Beatles (and a few other things) from history but not the memory of our star, a struggling musician. He takes advantage of nobody knowing their music and .. well you can probably figure out the rest. It's a concept that could have made for an interesting flick, but this isn't it... very underdeveloped. There were a few cute bits, but I wouldn't have paid to see it if we hadn't lost power with it being the only late show available. 5/10

Toy Story 4.

If the idea of the movie is that there comes a point when we need to move on and tell new stories then Toy Story 4 really is just one big joke that is struggling with its own existence. Why is Buzz even in the movie? Why are any of the old characters in the movie outside of Woody and Bo?

Toy Story 4 just exists to sell toys.

As a movie, it seems to be aimed towards people looking at retirement. "Yeah, I don't really want to be around my kids anymore. I do need to just retire and enjoy life". The new characters really save this movie, imo, and make sure that it doesn't limp to the finish line. Had they focused more on these characters then you might be looking at a classic. Instead...

The Spy Who Dumped Me. LOL. Bad movie. Kate McKinnon is an odd one. She can be funny one-minute and annoying as fuck the next. Same with her look. For a second I find her attractive and then I'm like, hell no.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019)

This is a massively-hyped movie. Deserved? Yes and no. Full disclosure: Late 60's/early 70's LA is my favorite setting for movies. With that being said, the movie does a great job of putting you in that world, combining real life and fictional actors. And the movie is kinda QT's love letter to this period in the movie industry and the LA area in general. It really plods along, but since it's Leo and Brad, it's enjoyable plodding. The overall plot is ok, and I guess the ending is what everyone was really waiting for, which I guess was a satisfying. Don't expect an action-packed thrill ride.

I liked it a lot more than that. All the characters were likeable and overall it was a light-hearted comedy. Bogged down a bit with the romance pieces but overall it was well-paced. Kate McKinnon was pretty funny in it.

And it was fun to listen someone sing a lot of Beatles songs. (no question who was still better though)

I agree that most of the actors did a fine job with their characters and light-hearted comedy sums it up. McKinnon is a fantastic sketch comedy comedic actress, but her strength is when she goes over the top. I've never really warmed up to her in any of her movie roles where she had to play an actual believable human being. This role was no exception.

Stan & Ollie. A light-hearted character study of Laurel & Hardy beginning with the tail end of their peak until their deaths. It's a bit slow moving at times, but both actors and the gals playing their wives did fine jobs. Comfort food. 7/10

First Men.

Kept losing interest and had to stop and start it twice due to distractions.

Meh.

I think her role as the manager was over the top and I thought she was pretty funny.

Red Dawn - 1984

If you're looking for a good war movie, this is the best it's going to get.

I heard about a remake of this that happened in 2012 so I decided to give it a look. I couldn't last 30 minutes.

I enjoyed the 2012 version except for the guy that played Chris Hemsworth’s brother. He was by far the worst part of the movie.
