You seem awfully bothered that I said all they can afford are aging vets. Now you're agreeing.

Guess some people like to take the long way.
They re-signed key players and made some big free agent signings. You acting like all they did was sign cheap veterans is clearly off base.

I’m a fan as well. Exciting player... good guy but his better days are behind him. My comment was more along the lines of the Eagles philosophy this year. It’s obvious that they are looking for veteran free agents because they see that as the recipe this year. My experience has been that if you rely on too many veterans it costs you later in the season becsuse they just don’t hold up.

I cant believe I’m going to say this but , agreed!

Not to mention that's all they can afford.

The Eagles have nearly all 22 of their starting players locked down through at least the next two seasons, including of course Wentz, the receivers, the tight ends and the entire starting offensive line minus Jason Peters, who is at the end of his career. And of course they drafted a left tackle in the first round.

So yes, not a lot of cap left over, but unlike, say, the Cowboys, they also have no major free agency hurdles ahead.

Not at all.
That's what you're wrongly reading into my statement. Philly fans can be so sensitive.

True. They do have the majority of their starters signed. That hasn't been a problem the way Howie kicks the proverbial can down the road. The issue is with the next level of players. Or better the lack of talent and consistency. They still have a LOT of backups and complimentary players due in 2020.
No one cares until starters start going down with injuries.
They also don't have a back up QB signed.

Yet we aren't nearly as butt hurt about something that happened two seasons ago like some others here are.

Remember how giddy you were way back then? When Philly won their ONE & ONLY SB in 50 LONG years?
Multiply that by six in less then 20 years and we can all pretty easily see who the most butthurt and sensitive fans are.

Enjoy another half century of mediocrity.

Your argument is pathetic. Name a contending team that doesn't have some cap issues in the next few years. Now compare those teams to Philly. I'll wait.

I say Philly should sign Ell Roberson to the practice squad. Let him make an option pitch to Sproles one last time at some point this season. Those 2 were unstoppable on NCAA 04

Take your 50 years of enduring butt hurt and the sensitivity card (oh whoa is us underdog) attitude out of this for a minute.

As I said the problem is lack of depth behind the starters.

Nobody's butt hurt about "what happened 2 years ago nor 50 years ago.

Really, Philly fans are being abused for some of their posters coming on here and begging for insults.

Lack of depth? We might have the deepest team in the league. NFL.com ranked us #1 for most talented roster. Dallas was #2

Homer glasses can skew the view of what the team really is.

Please.
Just rewind all the Philidiot threads about how injuries derailed your team.
Sorry you can't have it both ways.

If this is anything like your best ranked restaraunts of the 80s I'm not interested.

Learn how to post stories. I'm not searching NFL.coms web site for some story that is likely a GNG anyway.

I went on to read up and I couldn't find it on the main page or on the Eagles page.
