I've only been to 6 of the 10, so I have some work to do. :) Like previously stated, Alabama vs. LSU is not like the others + USC and ND is noticeably absent. Besides that, I would add that rivalries are mostly local and just don't matter that much to outsiders (from a Rivalry point of view) - regardless of how big the games means in the national rankings. I really don't care who wins most rivalry games. The only two that absolutely, positively matter to me no matter what is at stake is Cy-Hawk (Let's Go State!) and Iron Bowl (Roll Tide!) That being said, as a neutral - my two favorites that I have attended on this list are Army-Navy and Cal-Stanford.

Once upon a time the 3rd Saturday in October was huge. Still is for me.. But I guess when it gets so lopsided its not a rivalary any longer????

Army/Navy should be on top.

I could buy that ... I would put The Game (Michigan/ohio state) ahead of Alabama/Auburn ... Harvard/Yale could be on the list as well.

My List:

1. Michigan vs. ohio state

2. Army vs. Navy

3. Alabama vs. Auburn

4. Notre Dame vs. Southern Cal

5. Texas vs. Oklahoma

6. Georgia vs. Florida

7. Brigham Young vs. Utah

8. Miami vs. Florida State

9. Oregon vs Oregon State (although it should be Washington)

10. Ole Mississippi vs. Mississippi State

Any team can not have more than one primary rivalry ... there are many good secondary rivalries.

Sorry but there’s just no way that Oklahoma vs Texas should be behind USC VS ND and you could make a very very legit argument that Ohio state vs Michigan isn’t at the top. 1-4 are kind of interchangeable to me.

I have The Iron Bowl on top because of two reasons:
1. It is my team's rivalry.
2. It is the only one listed in which both teams have won a natty in the last decade(ish) and been in the championship game multiple times.

Were you to switch your #1 and #3, it would be my list as well.

There is some homer bias in my pick, but Michigan/ohio state extends way past football and started before football Toledo War - Wikipedia ... I think 1-5 could be interchangeable ...

The out of state rivalries are cute and all where they can play their game and go back to their home sanctuary but they will never compare to In-state rivalries
