The intent to keep him would be way above and the definition of doing a solid.
3 years at that price, with a player whose proven to be a problem/headache with past players and coaches is a terrible idea with a team that is rebuilding.

So, trade him for Chris Paul? Same shit, different player.

Yeah I was referring to the thunder doing Westbrook a solid, f Chris Paul he will be gone.

Traded to the Clips Dec 15, 2011.

That would be the 2011-2012 season then. When you keep referring to 2011, I automatically think you're talking of the 2010-2011 season

This past year the 2019 season....not the 2018 season

Semantics. I tire of typing '11/'12 every time. Regardless, it was a three year window before the Warriors had their first title season with Curry.

Easier said than done. Where, to Washington for Wall? Might as well keep all 3 terrible contracts in motion this summer.

I do think Butler is better now, but heatles saying he's better than Love ever was is off I think.

Maybe, maybe not....

Biutler has been a 2-way player his entire career.

I get that but my point is they were never favorites even before the Warrior.

Solid team for sure but I don't think we expected them to ever make a finals. They did underachiever by never getting to the WCF which was due to those choke jobs in 2014 & 2015 that I brought up earlier

Agreed....but Love was considered top 10 or at worst 15 in Minnesota I would think.

Looking at the Clippers odds with CP3 (can't find 2012 since he was traded middle of season)

2013- 25/1 (7th best)
2014- 20/1 (6th best)
2015- 8/1 (5th best)

Cavs only got Love, because they won the lottery with a 1.7% chance.

Without that, my guess is LeBron would have put much more effort into finding ways to improve Heat roster, seeing how that played out, and then made a decision.
No chance they get Love if they pick 2? Or 3? No way at that time Minny would have taken Parker or Embiid?

Or he would have gone somewhere else.
Or they would have been fine taking Parker or Embiid. Maybe even Gordon, Exum smart or Randle if the Cavs fell to those spots. Maybe the Cavs add an extra 1st if need be.

My bet would be Miami as well.....truth be told, though, maybe I'm forgetting but cannot think of many elite FAs who have joined Philly from another team.

Gonna need to get lucky (Cavs). Garland will need to be a stud and Sexton needs to progress. Then gonna need to nail a trade or a couple a FA or 2 will have to want to play with them and not be many other options in a year or 2

Philly FAs: best ones have probably been Moses Malone, Elton Brand, and just this summer Al Horford

Elite FAs?

Moses Malone was definitely one. Different era though.

Philly is one of those mid markets. I give them a good chance to resign their own drafted guys or lure a 3rd their player like Harris.

I thought they had a core in place to make them attractive for a LeBron or Kawhi type player, but the trades they made last year kind of took them out of the mix for that this summer. Philly is the type of market that could lure somebody once they have built a winning culture.
Knew about Malone but figured needed something a bit more current.

I thought if Lebron cared about winning as #1 priority last offseason he'd either stay or go to Philly.
