That's why you have someone on the back post. That should have been a goal on that corner kick. Scott saved the game so far and kept Canada in it.

Canada had their chances to at-least tie it up and couldn't do it. Huge decision to have the "rookie" take that PK for Canada and it cost them

Me thinks Sinclair would have made that PK

Man....the Swedish goalie made an amazing save. But really it was only possible as the kick taker choreographed the hell out of it. You could see it in the slow mo replay. She was really only going to one side with that.

There goes Canada, to bad to see that. Nothing vs. Beckie but I think Sinclair should have took that penalty kick.

I don’t even know enough about Sinclair....but I agree. It wasn’t very good.

Kind of like when Morgan was standing over the ball to PK today. She doesn’t take a lot of them. Why would she be doing so here? I know she wanted to stick it to Spain for whipping on her all game. But Rapinoe was the better call there.

We lose if to France if we play like we did today. Rather lethargic. Didn't create enough opportunities. If Morgan is actually that hampered, she needs to sit. Put in Press or Lloyd or even Pugh. Pinoe was looking somewhat tired as well.

I’d be fine with Alex looking at being a spark off the bench perhaps. Start Lloyd there and spell with Alex.

As for Rapinoe....she has a way of just finding it at points that you don’t want to miss with her on the bench. She has been very inconsistent....I just don’t know if I would like Pugh or Press in there. Maybe Mewis on that wing with her speed with the ball? Just don’t know who would step in for her at midfield.

I’m pretty sure they will want the right sub strategy in case they are late in game and it’s tied.

Also....if France plays like they did against Brazil they lose too.

Sinclair's perhaps the best player our women's soccer team has ever had. That and this could be her last World Cup, I really think she should have made that kick.

Seven European teams (and the US). That was interesting to read.

We wouldn't see much of a drop off with Press in over Morgan... That's not a knock on Morgan, but Press is a damn good player in her own right...

Pugh has been my favorite player over the last couple of years, but Ellis has her really mentally jacked up it seems... She is a winger. I think Ellis tried to get her on the field by moving her around some, and she really hasn't been the same since... She is a speed player that causes havoc for the D when she is in form...

I wonder, with the tournament being in France, if it would be better for the Women's game for the U.S. to win, or for France to win?

Fuck that. US all the way. Lol.

Though I do like France and might cheer them on against almost anyone else.

Haha... I'm not saying I'm not rooting for the U.S. :D

I’m not super up on Pugh....but I know Press is quite good. I think, admittedly, it would take some guts to make such starter changes at this game. And with three subs in a knockout you have not choice but to roll with a flat Morgan and/or Pinoe for a while. Lloyd starting in Morgan’s spot would be more likely. And I would be ok with tough ass Lloyd out there for 45-60 and spelled by Alex’s speed.

I think Morgan is physically better off than we think. But I have seen teams push her around in the past and take her off her game mentally. She’s gotten tougher over time....but it’s still an issue.

I am really getting geeked up on the hype for this. Shame the draws work out the way they do. This should be the Final, if both teams got to that point.

Also....I am wishing the game was Saturday or Sunday lol
