SEC Members - Can leave anytime they want with zero penalty.
Big Big12 Members - Sign their TV rights away and are held hostage by the conference.
It's no brainer to stay in the SEC.

No take backs. In fact, there is a request to move the state line to just West of Bryan-College Station. That way A&M will be in Louisiana! Hell, there is already very little difference in being just West or just East of the Sabine River...or Toledo Bend for that matter!

Arkansas has been in the SEC long enough so that they've started to create new rivalries, and the addition of Texas A&M probably helps in this regard. For obvious reasons, money, they won't leave the SEC. In addition, Arkansas may view the current Big 12 as being somewhat unstable.
That said, as pointed out above, there is no penalty for leaving the SEC, and they can leave whenever they want. The fact that they haven't left speaks for itself.
